    hi all, just wanted to see how people get creative. Do you follow your passion to write about what you like, or what you're good at or you just follow the trend or maybe both? Please shed light on your experience. thanks

    Probably both. Even with nonfiction there are areas I am more passionate about so I tend to lean into them. But at the same time, since this is my business and way to pay the bills I also follow trends to a certain degree to gain more reads.

    I write about stuff I have experience with or significantly good knowledge about. I try to stay away from just writing about trendy things.

    My rule of thumb is – if you don't have anything new to add or can't present the topic you're writing about in a better or more nuanced way, you're just wasting your time.

    I am battling with this: sometimes I go for trends while sometimes I write the one I am passionate about. In all, I feel a blend of trend and passion is the best.
