Hi,
I have made so many adjustments to my hubpage, which is a lesson plan I did with elementary children to introduce the Medieval Period. I keep getting back that it won't pass because of "Spammy elements." I feel like every link on the page is needed for the lesson. .Might you please give feedback on my article so I can get it featured? Thank you in advance for your help!
Here is my article: Medieval Life Lesson Plan for Elementary Children
It is on the discover.hubpages.com site, so it passed QAP.
Because of so many ads and blank spaces (not your doing), I found it difficult to read but interesting; however, I did notice one section has many links to other discover.hubpages.com articles, and we are not permitted to link to discover articles, only niche site articles. I also believe it is still HP best practice not to use text on a leading image.
Good luck in future! Perhaps you can update and make it onto a niche site.
Thank you so much for your suggestions! I agree that the copious amount of ads makes it difficult to read, but I unfortunately can't do anything about them. I have been trying to get the page featured. It is a lesson that is part of a unit study focusing on the medieval period with each lesson focusing on a different aspect: general life, knights, castles, etc. Since this is one of five lessons that are included in the medieval unit, I included the links to the other related lessons to make it easier for a teacher to find the related lessons.
Hi, I looked and noticed that the links are not correctly set. For example, Amazon links need their own capsule. I believe HP has a limited of links per word count. It appears that you have affiliate links. Here's some information on Spammy contenthttps://hubpages.com/faq/#Spammy-Elements
Also, you have ampersands, which can cause flags in content. Some words need to be capitalized in your bullet points.
Thank you! I really appreciate your feedback! I had no idea there was an issue with ampersands! That's helpful to know! I did originally have Amazon links as their own capsule but then removed them and inserted them as links in the hopes that might remove the "spammy elements" issue. I only have 2 amazon links so I shouldn't have an issue with the amazon/word count limit. I will check the bullet points to see where I need to add capitalizations. Thank you again!
Okay. The word count per link applies to all links, not just Amazon. Look over the HP FAQ on Spammy content.
Hi there,
I'm just scanning through on my tablet and my first impression is that the introduction is confusing and messy. Do you need to refer to other lessons and parts? Wouldn't it be better as a standalone page with a proper introduction?
I home schooled my children and I found some topic outlines to be quite useful. Personally, if this were my lesson plan I would restrict it to one aspect only, so cooking, or games, or the feudal system.
You could make a separate general plan of topics to study without the recipes and other stuff and link out from there. I've done it although I had to wrangle with the editors to get it featured.
I'm not supposed to include links but you can see how I did it here: https://exemplore.com/wicca-witchcraft/ … craft-Path I had to include a lot of words to justify the links.
The spammy elements may refer to those links so perhaps just put three links throughout.
Make sure to credit each photo in their captions, 'Author's own photo' is fine.
Good luck.
Thank you so much for your suggestions! I'll make adjustments to the introduction. This is a type of lesson that is part of a unit study focusing on the medieval period with each lesson focusing on a different aspect: general life, knights, castles, etc. This is a single lesson that I've taught multiple times. There are other aspects of the medieval period that are included in the unit study, but this particular one focuses on daily life.

I'd like some help with passing the Quality Assessment Process as my lesson plan on cells and DNA is now somehow considered to contain spammy elements. Of my 300 hubs, it is one of my most frequently visited ones, so I would like to have it returned to featured status soon. -Absolutely...

I have a hard time reaching above 75 points on my QAP assessment. I have no idea what else to do. I made sure my text is correct, stylized and broken into digestible chunks, bold only on important phrases, headings, sub-headings and other formatting techniques used. Since I had a lot of images, I...
