I'm in Armenia. PayPal doesn't work here. Does it mean I will never get paid? I am extremely sad. Earlier I thought I would get a different PayPal account, but I cannot.
PayPal is the only way to receive money from HubPages. An option is to use a friend in a PayPal enabled country to receive payments and them to forward to you.
I think that figuring out the means of receiving payment is something best done early on before you publish lots of work. Leaving it for three years after joining is not a good idea.
The only consolation is that even when they have a PayPal account, many writers are now concerned that they "will never get paid" as payment rates are so pitiful that reaching the payout threshold has become a major challenge.
The same with a lot of the microstock photo agencies. I've made maybe $10 on a few sites for sales of images, but I'll probably never get paid. Medium are at the same thing now. The sceptic in me says that this is a money making racket and not because of admin costs as many companies suggest.
The rules for HP payouts haven't really changed though in the 14 years I've been here. It's just that it's got harder to reach the threshold in the last few years.
Medium are a different case in that they've altered their rules multiple times on just about everything. You can't even earn when you join anymore without jumping through hoops.
That said, I agree with your main thrust that companies inevitably make money out of people because they never reach the required threshold.
The one that really got me was Adsense and its $100 threshold.
Although I guess Bubblews was the worst because they didn't pay you even when you did make the payout!

How do you get your earnings transferred to Paypal? How do you get your money transferred into your PayPal account? My PayPal account is configured, but it doesn't look like any of my earnings have been transferred to it.

PayPal has been holding my money since March! It's more than 21 days and they haven't released it. I keep having this problem. Can hubpages look into other sites like Skrill and Payoneer? They are nice alternatives.

I would hate to not be able to participate in hubpages any longer, but paypal is beyond ridiculous now with their spying and thinking they can just take $25,000 out of people’s checking accounts because they don’t like/agree with what people post online (NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS PAYPAL) and I need to...

Hi all, for some reason I just got a notification that my Paypal account is limited and am no longer able to receive funds. I will call them to ask what the issue is (but from horror stories, they take ages to resolve), so in the meantime, I'd like to know what happens to my hub earnings — since...
