Hi everyone…
I am posting this thread since several authors have made inquiries about certain aspects not specifically addressed in the official “Wound Down” email we received from Team Hubpages. I sent an email to Team Hubpages asking questions on behalf of fellow authors but have not heard back from them.
Has anyone else sent and received a response from HP regarding the following? (It would help authors to know more as well so they can plan accordingly. Thank you!)
Email Sent:
Regarding your recent email regarding the “wind down”:
“Account:
In approximately one week (on or around November 19, 2025), the system will no longer accept new content submissions, content edits or new accounts. You will still be able to access your account and view your earnings balance.”
“Your Content:
Access to your existing account will remain active until at least the end of February 2026. At this time, we encourage authors to make copies of your content.
You may leave your content up on hubpages.com for users to continue to read.”
1. Does access to the account still enable the author to delete or remove specific HP/Discover content even though they are not able to edit said content from HP/Discover?
2. How long will the author be able edit their profile?
3. When the author no longer has access to their account, can they still request that the content be removed from HP/Discover by submitting this request via an email to Team Hubpages?
4. When the author no longer has access to their account, but still have publications published on HP/Discover, will their profiles still be published and available for readers to see?
5. How long will the forums be available for posting discussion threads?
Thank you,
Genna Eastman
Thank you for asking those important questions, Genna. We do need those answers, so I hope they reply.
Hi Genna,
We’re gathering all of the questions that have come in from authors, including the ones listed here, and will share a more detailed update as soon as possible. We appreciate everyone’s patience and continued support as we work to provide the most accurate information.
We all knew this was coming, but why did it take you this long to even communicate something with the writers.
Thank you, "STAFF," but for right now, you should at least answer the most obvious, time-related question, quickly, and for obvious reasons.

When will authors no longer be able to delete content?
Thank you.
TO STAFF: You still have not answered the question regarding when will authors no longer be able to delete content. This is extremely important to HP/Discover authors for obvious reasons.
Those are important questions Genna. Thank you for asking. Will be following this thread.

Yes, even I sent an email to them asking what's the future as a writer. I haven't received any reply yet. Thanks Genna for asking these questions. I will be following and hopefully we get a reply soon.
Wow! I haven't written anything for a couple of years but this has been a big part of my life for over 15 years. Such a shame.
The HP staff have replied that they will come out with a more clear-cut notification within a few days/weeks.
So, let us see what they tell.
Thank you, everyone! We all share the same concerns. I have received emails from other authors as well expressing unease as to why these were not addressed in the original announcement…especially, regarding:

I am a photographer and use some of mine on my hubs too. I usually credit myself with my hub name and haven't had any issues so far.

Hi all,Thanks in advance for any help.I submitted my first piece yesterday. It was rejected with feedback that was very broad - either not up to standard or spammy. I thought it might be because I had included an Amazon capsule so I removed that, but left the writing as it was and resubmitted the...
