When leaving always think ahead

I am slowly moving articles.  Some will not be making the move, and others are being combined.  I am trying to not disrupt the new location by dumping over 100 articles at once.  This pushes authors from the recently published page.  So, I am adding no more than one or two a day.  I am moving where I already have over 400 articles, and respect the community.

Think about not making waves with huge dumps all at once.  You new community will become your friends if you allow.

Will miss Hubpages, but will have a new home for some articles.

Why not? Do you mean you will be leaving some on Hubpages beyond the deadline, for their indefinite gain? Have to question why anybody would do this.

The likelihood of this place winning back substantial traffic for as long as Google dominate the internet is very slim.

But Elon Musk is programming an unbiased search engine, which presumably means with 100% organic uncensored results. In that event, Hubpages might gain substantial traffic again (and profit from your sweat), whilst new similar platforms might reemerge and thrive.

I don't understand the logic in allowing this platform to benefit from an indefinite perpetual royalty from your labour, without compensation.

The relationship between Hubpages and writers over the past 20 years has been mutually beneficial. I don't understand why anybody would give them 100% of the revenue beyond the end of January, whether that is $1 or $1000.

A good point, Henry. As for me, I have a stock of my articles in my OneDrive folder. I published only one or two on Medium and on my blog in these two months. I will go much slower than you mentioned.

Good advice. Where are you moving your articles? I have heard of Medium for poetry. For travel cooking, and other subjects, what would be other platforms you could recommend? Thanks!

Medium isn't just for poetry, Peg. You can publish anything there. Linda Lum has all her cooking articles there now and is popular.

I'e saved loads but still not sure what to do with them. I may just put a few together and make ebooks. Either way I have loved writing on here, and will miss it and all of you!

Thanks John. I have a wide variety of articles. I guess I have only read poetry articles on Medium which is why I thought that was their primary focus. I'll check it out.

Good idea, Peg. It is quite diverse.
