As a total newcomer, I am bewildered about Ads. Are they ads for things people are selling, connected with the content?
The ads are placed by Google. The ads are generated by internet marketers wanting to advertize their sites - much in the same way as TV commercials.
You write on a topic - say 'How To Find The Best Rolex' - and Google will 'crawl' your page, 'read' the content and insert relevant ads in the provided spaces.
But you do need to become and affiliate with Google. For more in depth help, click the help button on the top right of your screen, or read through the learning centre, found bottom left.
