Yee-hah!!!!!  I'm headin' for the hills tomorrow to go on a cattle drive with hubber Art 4 Life.  The drive is a benefit for Arkansas Children's Hospital.  Don't know how I'll hold up....not used to riding but an hour at a time.  Ole' Art 4 Life is used to this kinda thing.  Spousey keeps saying, "Oh you aren't gonna make it...you arent' used to this!"  I'll show him! (Huh! I could make it on Survivor.....not).

This ride lasts for 1 1/2 days & we're camping out (I have a cot!) Let's pray my body won't break down on me.  Gonna be a lotta other baby boomers there, I feel sure. I'm not taking my horse, he's never been on a drive before plus the terrain would exhaust him (too fat & sassy). I'm riding one of Art's horses.

We're gonna document the whole thing with pictures and using my Flip Video.  I plan to write a hub about the trip including the video. We are gonn HAM IT UP!!!!!!!!  I can't wait to show off my new hat!  There is one more hubber who is gonna be there......can't remember her hub name.  I'm excited!!!!!  Wish me luck. I'll need it.

Tell them you would like to ride point.  Otherwise, take plenty of kerchiefs and a dustbuster along with you.  Do they make portable heating pads?

No way am I riding point! Uh-uh. I got the heat rub stuff, bringing my own saddle. I plan to dismount every hour.
          I'll make it. I'll make it. I'll make it.....butt

Dang, I hope I don't forget my inhaler and the toilet paper.

I don't think people really understand that leather ain't all that forgiving. Two hours on a Horse is like 10 hours in a car, sounds nice to you actually do it.

Good luck with in the Ozarks that air can get a little thin!

You have a COT with you to sleep? Didn't the cowboys in the Westerns just sleep on their hats, with a fire burning to keep the night creatures at bay?
LOL, I can just imagine me going on such a trail, I wouldn't be able to walk without my legs being in the shape of the Clyde Tunnel for a month!
I can imagine J being with me, he's a horseman, and he'd just laugh at me.
You go, girl, look forward to reading all about it smile

    We're back!!!!

We set off Thursday morning bright & early.  It was a real adventure. The actual ride wasn't that long.......but it was rough riding...up & down the Ozark hills at a high trot, over the rocks & walking through streams. I'm not really that sore! Just lower back pain mostly.

Art 4 Life had a devil of a time dealing with her horse, Santana. She was exhausted.

Horsecrazy Heidi was on the ride too....she's one helluva' horsewoman!!

I'll be writing about it soon when I can get the video footage converted in the right format, after I get home. Still in the Ozarks for now.  Check yall later for sure. Had to get on & feed my interntet addiction.

Hey Buck...do I note a bit of Texan in your writing?? hehe..I can tell by your writing accent..
yes...we had a great time at the cattle drive...my ass is argueing with me over that statement though...both donotfear and I, are going to be investing heavily into heating pad stock in the future, or else I will just have to get an extreme padded saddle, maybe slaughter a sheep somewhere and stuff the hide ontop of it...?...one or the other...
Anyway...we survived...some of the cattle got away, and we just left them in the woods...really...they did that, kinda surprising, oh well....my question is..what happened to them? Are they now just wild cows out in the woods, left to fend for themselves, to stock a new strain of wild cow in the Ozarks?? Ok...my brain is tired...better get off here, before I start going on and on...I need some tequila and a couple of motrin...

We wish you coulda been there too, Sexy Texy. We had a mule all lined out for ya' to ride. Have you ever ridden straight up an embankment at lope?

Ha...I'm not even sore & stiff from the ride. Yet.....heheh.
