Have you noticed that when not logged in and you go to the hubpages home page, the featured hub is nearly always a half-naked woman hub or a 'how to make money online' hub?
sometimes I log out to check the front page... yes, I have noticed there are many how to make money hubs featured, often by the same people. how it is determined what is featured? does anyone know?
makes sense.. Money and Sex, cant think of anything more popular than that.
The features seem to be based on popularity and Hub Score- high frequency of comments and visits.
When we did the 60Dc, on most days 3 or 4 of the features were from our group.
well, yeah, money and sex sell. but some of those articles just say the same thing...
that must be one reason why so many newbies come in thinking they're going to make a boatload of $$.
I did see something different the other day... vegetarian burgers, but that was a first...
I think it lowers the quality with the half naked women as the first thing seen on the front page.
I agree, but the truth is that's what is most popular here and on the net. Look at the hubs that get the most comments. It's most always about how to make money or sex. And look that the topics in the forums (except for religion and politics) that get the most action, money - sex - addiciton.
On the plus side, your hub doesn't have to be there or about that to make money Whitney (we both have proven that!). And most hub visitors don't enter throught the main page, I bet they go right to hubs.
Unless we form our own goup like sunforged to boost each other to the top page, we'll just have to make do, and I think we're doing great!
Yes that is true. I'm not concerned with seeing my hubs on the front, but I just always found it odd that those were nearly the only topics on the front.

I don't know if this is workable or not, it's just a suggestion. However I was just reading a thread about hubbers "rewarding" other hubbers by clicking their adverts. My suggestion: Since we cannot see Kontera adverts while logged in, could the same be applied to Adsense?Obviously there...

I asked a friend to check out a hub of mine to check a link that had been broken that I had fixed to make sure it was working. She said the link worked fine and that the article itself looked really good BUT more then half way down my last block of text was shifted way down. So she saw some ads and...

Does anybody not find it absolutely ridiculous that anybody that types in hubpages.com is brought to a minimalist homepage, with the words:"I agree with Ben Carson, no Muslims as president."Everybody has a right to their opinion - I'll argue that to the death, no matter how stupid the...

I'm going to do this every day until I only see Hubs or I just give up, whichever comes first.Wed Dec 7, 2016How did 3,000,000 (Million!!!) illegal aliens vote in California? Why do you think Jill Stein is requesting recounts for the presidential election in WI, MI and PA?Doesn't freedom of speech...

I have a feature request. When I'm logged in and I visit my own page, I don't want that to show up as a pageview under myAccount. Is there anyway to make this happen? I suppose as your hub gets more and more popular this becomes less of an issue. Another way to achieve this...

With the new layout of the HubPages front page, there seem to be fewer opportunities to get a hub featured there (with all the additional traffic that this brings). How is a hub selected for the front page, does it have to reach a certain score, number of daily visitors, google page rank?It is...
