Hello!  My name is Cindy, and I'm new to this site.  So far, I love it!  I have always enjoyed writing, and I love to read what others contribute.

I have published 7 hubs and could always use some advice on how to make them look great.  I'm just learning the layouts and how to insert pictures.

Any advice/constructive criticism would be welcome.  Don't hold back, I'm pretty tough!

Look forward to reading your hubs too.  Thanks in advance for any input/advice you can offer.

p.s. I'm not here to make money, only to share ideas.

    Cindy (aka Inner Harmony)

If you would like a few of your hubs reviewed/critiqued, then please post a few links(3), so hubbers can check them out. smile

Okay, here is one of my latest...I'm sure it could use some cool chess piece photos.  Please feel free to critique. … in-schools

Cindy, I think you should break down your text into at least 2 "text capsules" and a "link capsule" in of related hubs and post a few pictures. If you need some help on capsules and links check out the learning center..

    The hub below?

    (a) needs more keywords/tags - (HubPages only requires two tags), but you would be best putting between 9-15 keywords/tags

    The hub below?

    (a) same problem with keywords/tags
    (b) use more text capsules for your text, so as to optimize ad placement
    (c) use paragraphs

    The hub below? … in-schools

    (a) keywords problem is same here too
    (b) use more text capsules again
    (c) it's too short...should be a minimum 400+ words, but more text the better...average should be about 1000+ words.

    The hub below?

    (a) keywords/tags need more
    (b) more text capsules
    (c) paragraphs

    The hub below?

    (a) keywords/tags

    The hub below? … -Sclerosis

    (a) keywords/tags
    (b) properly categorization- if not a poem...?
    (c) **if not a poem, then it is definitely way too short.

    The hub below? … -Sclerosis

    (a) keywords/tags
    (b) more text capsules
    (c) paragraphs

    Hope that helped! smile

Hey Cindy! I love your hubs, and was particularly taken with the one on MS. I hope all is well with you.

If you don't care about making money from your hubs, then I don't think you need to change a thing. smile

Wow!  That was quick.  Thank you so much.  I know nothing of keywords/tags, so the advice is mucho appeciated.

And yes, the "Nightmare of Multiple Sclerosis" is a poem smile

Can you edit your hubs and add more keywords/tags?  I should do this if possible.

You can added or subtract keywords/tags, without or with editing. It is the only change you can make without actually using the edit feature.

I would also like to give you some hubs to read, so you can improve.

Darkside....excellent hubber and great writer wrote some hubs on using HubPages.

      How To Hub
      How HubPages Works
      How Hubscore Works
      Hubpages Works

Those are for the basics. wink big_smile

Edit: The reason I mentioned about the poem??? Is that it is in the wrong category, and you can change that by going into edit mode and looking in the top box for the location where the category is... smile

Thank you Irohner!  Very sweet.  smile

I still want my hubs to look good, even though I'm not going for professional - prefer casual.

Thank you for taking the time to read my hub.

Cagsil, thank you so very much!  I will read the hubs you recommended and learn the basics.

Didn't realize my poem was in the wrong category -- newbie mistake smile
