Hello I'm done with my company and starting a new one so I'd like to change my username
However I just read that I cant change the username. Best just delete my entire account and start over. I can do that, but i don't want to loose my hubs. How do i not loose my hubs? Is there a way to transfer them somehow?
Thanks!
Sar
Hey HelloEcomdr,
Make copies of your hubs, so you can move them to a new account.
However, it will take some time for them to be removed from search engines, once you deleted them from this account.
I am not sure how long it will take before you will be able to re-post the same hubs. But, I would suggest re-writing them, similar to what they are about now and creating new URLs for them.
You will be able to add them to your new account, later if you do not change them or if you do change them, then you'll be able to add them immediately.
Hope that helped.
no way to transfer as far i know, you have to copy them all first, then delete the hubs and then delete your account.
opps, cagsil has already answered it in detail. sorry.
Okcagsil, so i have to copy paste, save all the photos manually, etc.... And you're saying can't use the same urls? Argh...... Do u know how long it will be before I can use e same urls, my blackberry how to hub is doing fairly well. I just can't take this username aughhbbbn
If I do this loose my cool comments, huh. Maybe I'll just suck it up with this old business association until hub pages allows us to change our usernames. :-(
And start a new account (?)
You can start a new account without deleting this account.
And, as for how long it would take for the search engines to de-index your hubs and the URLs used...I have no clue. I've heard some people say it takes several weeks.
HubPages will delete it within 24-48 hours from the time you delete the hub, but search engines will still have it indexed.
As for keeping the company going? I would change the email settings on the account, so there is no way to contact you. Therefore, no business relationship.
HubPages doesn't switch over hubs from one account to another, but you are more than welcome to email Team@HubPages.com and see what they say about it.
And, finally, yes you would have to copy everything from the hub and then create new URLs for each of them, if you created a new account and transferred them, because the search engines will still have them indexed, as they are right now.
I hope that helped.
unfortunately you will loose your cool comments, but you can use the same url. only make sure you have deleted the the existing hubs first. keep copies of your hubs first, then delete those. wait 24 hour.within 24 hour hubpage will remove those hubs. then create your new account and recreate the hubs.Don't recreate until all your hubs are removed.otherwise those will be tagged as duplicate that's it.
thank u so much for the help, everyone!!!!!! I'll be back with my own personal username!
Woot! Here I am, I had forgotten I Had started a personal hub accou t lonnnnnng ago. I got the password and I'm in! I'll copy and paste the hubs thanks for the advise cagsil, only thing is I don't want to advertise for the rotten company even with an unused old user name. I'm starting my own company and I already have an affiliate program going so people can make money off it! Night for now all

I would like to see the ability to change the username (and of course the appropriate 301 redirects to ensure you don't lose your rankings in search)

I have read somewhere here that google search engines take into account the page-views to compute ranking. Is it advisable to delete non-performing Hubs, those with 0 pageviews a day, as a way to increase traffic in an attempt to increase ranking? How do you deal with low-performing hubs?thanks in...

I have been a Hubber for 14 month, but I started to write Hubs about 3 to 4 month ago; my pageviews are 3200 more. I have written 12 Hubs so far; it's not easy to write them -I must think hard...very hard. And I do not know how The TeamHubpages views my Hubs: I do not know how Google Ads reviews my...

Is there any way I can change my old username (Butterfly67) to the actual name that I have on my hubs now (Jackie Grant)? I'm assuming not but thought I might as well ask.
