I would like to see the ability to change the username (and of course the appropriate 301 redirects to ensure you don't lose your rankings in search)
Because of the way subdomains are set up, this would mean that all your backlinks would be broken - even with 301 redirects this would mean at least a small loss in backlink quality - not to mention that it would involve more work for staff and might end up meaning you lose some of your online reputation if your online psuedonym was slowly gaining in notoriety.
I do kind of like the way Squidoo has it set up, so you can transfer pages between accounts though.
From the help section...
How do I change my username?
Unfortunately, you can not change your username. If you need to change your username, please abandon your account and create a new one, with another email address. If you choose to do this, please note that you will not be able to transfer your Hubs to the new account.
So what if I set up a new account with a new email address and my choice of username but then deleted all my hubs from my old account and put them up again in my new account? Would that work? Would I be able to submit my old hubs again?

I want to get a new username for branding purposes. Is there a way to transfer certain hubs from my old username to a new one? Or to link them to my new username somehow?I'd hate to delete them and start over altogether, since some of them have been pinned on Pinterest.

I wondered if there had been some change to the proposed order of import? We understood that the people who clicked early on to move their Squidoo accounts to HubPages would be the first to be moved. However, from reports in various groups many people who clicked to do so much later have had their...

When I hit the transfer button on my Squidoo dashboard and it "forced" me to make a new username for Hub Pages, even tho I had one, I thought that it would be something that would be merged later. Now that I understand more of what's happening, I wish I had not chosen the name I chose...
