Does Summary Matter?

Is it better to set this to auto or is it more SEO friendly to cusomtize your summary targeting the keyword?

I know Hubpages already takes the first paragraph for an auto-summary which should be optimized. I jus had the thought that maybe writing my own unique summary would be more beneficial and look better to the Googs.

Definitely rewrite the summary yourself.  The summary is what people see when the search engine results come up, so the more tempting you can make it to readers, the more likely they are to click on the link to your hub.

It matters enormously. Write a great description that catches people's eye, and you'll get a lot more visitors.

Make sure you have your keywords or keyword phrase within the first two sentences.  If this has been picked up by automated hp great.. if not, create it manually.
