SEO optimization is the key. Write on topic which has less competition but high demand. After writing a Hub bookmark it in different social bookmarking site and try to get back-links from High Pr site.

Get some comment and rating. Wait for couple of months to rank your content high in the search engine. If they rank well you will get lots of views , it don't then try for another Hub.

this is a million dollar question.

You hubpage should rank on top in search engines.  for that to happen you should SEO optimize your hubpage as pointed out by tnvrstar.

If your hubpage link is found in several other webpages, then, there is better ranking chances for your hubpage.  Therefore it is good idea to link your hubpages in other hubpages wherever it is relevant.

the only way to improve the page views of a hub is to make it SEO friendly. Use websites like shetoldme.com or imautomator.com for getting more backlinks to your hub and simultaneously the page views of your hub will improve...

@tnvrstar: Explain SEO? the only thing that can be done is keyword density. Everything else is done by HP and is not done properly.

Backlinks are the key to getting more visitors. Visit blogs in your hubs niche and write at least a 200 word post that makes them want to click on your name. It doesnt matter what type of PR it has, just comment.

First, you want to make sure you are writing hubs that people want to read.  Choosing popular topics really helps.  How-Tos and facts a student might look up, for example.

Then you want to write a quality hub that provides the information that people were looking for. Give them additional information that isn't on every other website about the topic.

Be sure to check for spelling, grammar and other typos.

You need to make sure that the search engines can find your hub, so make sure that the title clearly uses the words someone would type in the search engine to find that hub.  Also use those keywords several times throughout the hub.  I had a book review hub that didn't use the word book or review at all, and had to go back and edit it.

Last but not least, you need to market the hub.  Make sure you put links on each of your hubs to some your other hubs about the same topic.  Send links to your friends and family so they can look at it. You can consider having another site - a blog for example, where you talk about your hub with a link, so that you can get some free advertisement.

You also have to have patience.  It takes time for a hub to age properly, and after you have done your part, you have to wait.  I like to write other hubs while I am waiting.

Write quality articles and have enough material to attract readers for reading more. That's one of thing I always try to focus. Be different from the rest I would say.

I have found that just one article on Ezines, with a link back to my Hub, made an immense improvement to the views on that Hub.  As others have said, use anchor text in as many external websites as possible, linked back to your Hub - it works!
