I've looked on Google, I've looked on HP, I've checked the forums......
Help me please.
I need to edit a person out of a photo. I thought it would be easy to cover them with a copy of the background as it is just a wall, then maybe blur it a bit. I have found loads on online image editors, and uploaded the image. But then I just get totally stuck.
I really need to learn how to do this stuff.
Where should an absoloute beginner begin?
You will need something with a clone brush to "wipe out" the person and replace it with the background. Not sure about online image editors, but I believe paint.net has that option, and it's free. You just have to download something from Microsoft to run it.

learn this rather simple technique

im not sure cloning brushes are available with any other free tool
I think you might be able to do something at photobucket.com . Give it a play and see what you think?
I don't know about free editing software, or programs that do it. I use Photoshop, and it's pretty easy.
I knew you lot would be able (and willing) to help. Thanks. I will invest some time in playing about with GIMP, and I'll take a look at the others too.

I have been advising people to use the free text editor, Picmonkey.com, for years. Today I went on the site to rework a photo, and after I did, the site would not allow me to down load it. Seems they now...

Fellow Squid refugees, as many of us come to the end of our first full month on HubPages, I'm wondering how those edits are coming. What's been your process for slogging through the old lenses, to turn them into shiny...
