I recently joined hubpages. I am not clear about backlinking. How do u backlink.
"Backlinks are incoming links to a website or web page. " "Search engines often use the number of backlinks that a website has as one of the most important factors for determining that website's search engine ranking, popularity and importance."
There are many ways to try to get backlinks.
Back linking is very important for the most part. Try sites like socialmarker.com and sign up for some of the sites. This makes it easier to send back links. There are also several other sites like this, but this one is free.
Also back link to sites underneath the hub such as facebook, myspace, and etc....
There are different things when it comes to backlink. Do social bookmark, forum posting, commenting on other blogs, use article directories etc.
Did you join recently? I am seeing you are joined 11 months back.

How many links do you typically need for a hub to get good traffic? What's your experience been? How do you go about? Where do you post links?

I just wondered if anyone backlinked their backlinks, like putting Shetoldme links on Reddit for example. I'm seriously running outta ideas of how to get traffic.
