Just published my first hub (on Station Wagons):

    http://hubpages.com/hub/FamilyCar

I don't really have the hang of this Hub Pages thing yet so if anyone has some suggestions on how to improve the lens I'd really appreciate it. Pointers to better done Hubs on similar topics would be appreciated to.

    Thanks,
    Ken

you need some serious makeover in the keyword I mean in tag section. You can add around 20 tags for a medium size hub. Use more relevant to topic, high traffic ad less competition tags so that people find your hubs in searches. Learn the techniques of using keywords, there are many hubs on this topic. You can use this tool for keyword research https://adwords.google.com/o/Targeting/ … earch.none

      Add captions under every photo

      Welcome to HP.

Welcome to HubPages, where we do hubs--not lens! smile

Nice job on your first hub! It looks pretty good, but you should move that first photo down to your second text capsule. If your first text capsule has enough text, it will accommodate a 300x250 Google ad--prime banner ad real estate that you don't want to take up with a static photo.

Nice post. Well written and quick to get to the point. You have plenty of links to click on for more information. My only concern is the picture with the children in the back of the station wagon. No infant seat, no seat belts etc. Although I grew up in the era when this was totally acceptable, it most definitely is not acceptable now.

I would either add a caption to the picture explaining that, although there is plenty of room for the kids, while driving they should be in their seats / car seats and belted in. Or maybe just eliminate that picture all together.

I do remember the fun we had going to the drive-in-movies and having the back seat down just like that. We would lay there and watch the movies until we fell asleep. I think that was mom & dad's plan all along.

Welcome to Hub Pages, write on!!

Wait a few days and check the title tuner. It's going to suggest you the word 'best' to include in your title and probably in the body of the content as well. And please, you know that lens is an expression exclusively used on Squidoo, so while here, let's just resort to hub. smile

Oops... yep, I came here from the other site. I guess I'll need to unlearn some old habits.

      Cheers,
      Ken
