To this point I was only at about $2 in Amazon earnings. Today I woke up to check my adsense earnings, and wasn't even going to bother with my Amazon.
It says 17 ordered items and only 9 shipped. Is that more good news for me?
Shipping times vary, so some items do take longer to ship than others and Amazon won't add the commission to your account til an item has shipped.
The creullest cut is when someone returns an item and the commission is taken back off your earnings - especially if the returned item was an expensive one!
As it gets close to christmas you risk having someone decide to do their christmas shopping under your affiliate cookie if you have some decent amazon ads to tempt them with. Enjoy it mate! It can be loads of fun this time of year to get to experience surprise sales
Yeah, you always hear about it until it actually happens to you. There is no question I'm a believer now,
The funny thing is, most of the items are not even ones I recommended. Is that normal?
It has been ages since any of my sales have anything to do with the stuff I place on my hubs
I just love the surprises of stuff I didn't even know existed
Totally normal - for me actually it's quite the norm. Once someone gets to Amazon by clicking one of your links, you get credit for everything they purchase as long as it's within that 24 hour cookie window!
I've sold a little over $6,000 worth of products, 227 items to be exact - with only 60 of them being through product links!
Congratulations! My best day only sold 11 items.
And it can take awhile for some items to ship especially if they aren't in stock.
And only about 30% of items I sell are ones I have on my hubs. I've sold everything from jeans to vacuum cleaners, and I have no idea which hub someone clicked through from!
Lol, thanks!
You're the best!
We tied! It says I have 11 ordered items yesterday. I'm sure mine was just a fluke though. Thanks for posting on Yahoo and getting me to come here!
Haha well the better you do, the better I do. I think you're my second most prolific referral.
Although you've certainly gotten a lot further a lot faster than I did when I started!
Yeah, I wasn't sure if you were or not. That's cool, plan on making more hubs on Mikeydoes before I think about making another one, if I even make another one.
Once I make you a millionaire are you going to give me a little cut
Does it say how much you've gotten off of me?
Unfortunately I have no idea if you're contributing 90% of my earnings or 1%. Although I usually figure out that the difference between Analytics and Adsense is what comes from referrals and trackers.
All I can see is the total amount of traffic through every member that signed up using that tracker, as well as usernames, hubscore and number of hubs.
And once I'm a millionaire I'll start writing free articles for people. Wouldn't that be better than a cut? LoL Either that or a free signed copy of my first book.
My Amazon sales are great this month, much better than usual.
Most of what I have sold has nothing to do with anything I have written, however I am getting several sales from game hubs I wrote last year.
From tomorrow until Christmas everyone should see a big jump in Amazon sales. The nice thing is most will be buying a lot of stuff for all their gifts.
So each order should be lots bigger than normal. I sold 7 items yesterday but I'm looking toward a lot more per day the next few weeks.
I really think the Christmas buying season can help get writers to 'break through' with amazon sales. It can be so motivating and get us writing hubs about stuff we like and find that after the christmas season we have those hubs to make sales during the rest of the year. I know thats what happened to me last year.
Woo hoo, I had no orders yesterday!!! But it seems to come in waves and overall I am having a great month and have earned around $135 so far
Congrats to all! I wish my referral rate will increase by .5% soonest - to 7 percent. I need 22 more sales.
I was going to ask. What is the highest referral rate? Is it 7%?
I don't know Mickey, haven't reached past that yet. Maybe others will answer this.
Happy thanksgiving to you and I wish you more success.
Its 10% on Video on Demand and MP3 products. Otherwise you can get up to 8.5% on everything except electronics but you do need to shift over 3000 items to get that.
Thank you! I hope so.
It really is hard to believe.
You wait for that moment to happen, so that you know it can happen again and again. Glad it hit like it did.
It was so strange. I had 4 sales (video sales at that, for a grand total of $1.40) in a span of 2 months. I was getting a ton of amazon clicks, just not converting. Then to wake up and see $10 and a lot of numbers, I was really confused. Really, I was in disbelief. Then upon more research I found that I had even more money than that coming, it was really cool.
I officially want to start telling my friends to really start doing this, I need to run a sweatshop or something!
Sold an Ipod last night and 4 other sales!
I recommend you newbies get more amazon ads/hubs up, this is the real deal!
Good for you. I had 8 sales yesterday so I hope it keeps up like this for the next month.

A few weeks ago my earning percentage dropped from about 10% to about 5%. Is it just me?

Amazon used to account for half my earnings on HubPages with sales happening every day. Now for the past five days (July 28 – Aug 1) I had zero sales. I’m still getting Google traffic to my articles that have Amazon capsules and Amazon text links. So I’m wondering what changed. Hopefully the HP...

There's obviously something wrong with the Amazon sales stats that HubPages is putting out right now. The last four days have two zero earnings and two slightly (like cents) negative earnings. This is not normal. Has anyone received an explanation from HubPages?
