Well, as much as I enjoy writing articles, I would also like to earn a tidy side income and so far I'm not doing to well. I do get hits from google but people seem to bounce right out without clicking around too much. Anyway, this is my latest hub. Please tell how you think it (and maybe some of my other hubs) could be made more lucrative.

thanks!
Many of your other hubs are nicely arranged but I don't like the lay out of this hub. Not at all.
You better work with the amazon capsules a bit more and try different layouts and see which look better.
hmmm, you're right about the misspelling WryLit - how embarrassing. I've fixed that and also changed around the layout a bit.
I actually decided to make a hub out of this because people were landing on my Christmas in Germany hub with those december 6th and nikolaustag keywords.
Anyway, please take another look and let me know if it's any better.
thanks again!
Hi edelhaus.
Here's some advice from me - who yesterday made a complete fool of myself by wondering why Adsense was not delivering product placement based on keywords like democracy and politics.
I looked at your hub. It's a nice looking hub. Compares well to a lot of the sales hubs, which you will notice if you do some hub hopping.
You mentioned Google hits and people not clicking through. I have this too, none of them click. But a good click through rate is 3 or 4% I think (experts will tell you) - therefore you need hundreds / thousands of hits.
I also, although only briefly (hey I'm not getting paid for this!), looked at your product placement and selection. It seems to me that people using your keyword might be the people who really like traditional Xmas stuff, possibly German Xmas related merchandise?
So, for example, the mobile phone cover seemed a pointless advert. Personally, I think less, better targeted adverts is good - but I KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about sales hubs.
Anyway, good luck figuring it all out.

I just received lately some answers that to earn a lucrative income, one must have at least 1000 hubs and drive at least 1000 pageviews a day. I was shocked. I thought that was awfully lot. Thanks for any response.

There have been several theories about what content Google is penalising and rewarding in the search results but at the moment it does seem a bit random (from my end). Let's compare notes and hopefully we can see some common threads in there. What content of yours is holding on to its ranking and...

Dear Hubbers,I am writing my first hub and wanted to know which is better? writing a 5000 word Hub on a topic or splitting it into 5 hubs with 1000 words each.thoughts?

I've written just one maths hub that does reasonably well, getting around 200 views per day. So I'm wondering was I just lucky to pick an uncovered topic, or is it a lucrative category to write in? I've written a couple of physics hubs that get some traffic but not a huge amount.

Okay, I'm going to go OFF on the Hub of the Day choice, again... I KNOW that there are better Hubs written about MUCH better topics in here every day. I know, because I've read some of them. If Hubpages wants to be KNOWN for it's talented writers who DO write about WORTHY subjects beyond crafts,...
