Well, as much as I enjoy writing articles, I would also like to earn a tidy side income and so far I'm not doing to well.  I do get hits from google but people seem to bounce right out without clicking around too much.  Anyway, this is my latest hub.  Please tell how you think it (and maybe some of my other hubs) could be made more lucrative.

    thanks!

It's a very specific date, meaning you're unlikely to get much traffic except on one day a year.

And according to google the correct spelling is 'Nikolaustag'

Many of your other hubs are nicely arranged but I don't like the lay out of this hub. Not at all.

You better work with the amazon capsules a bit more and try different layouts and see which look better.

hmmm, you're right about the misspelling WryLit - how embarrassing.  I've fixed that and also changed around the layout a bit.

I actually decided to make a hub out of this because people were landing on my Christmas in Germany hub with those december 6th and nikolaustag keywords.

Anyway, please take another look and let me know if it's any better.

    thanks again!

    Hi edelhaus.

Here's some advice from me - who yesterday made a complete fool of myself by wondering why Adsense was not delivering product placement based on keywords like democracy and politics.

I looked at your hub.  It's a nice looking hub.  Compares well to a lot of the sales hubs, which you will notice if you do some hub hopping.

You mentioned Google hits and people not clicking through.  I have this too, none of them click.  But a good click through rate is 3 or 4% I think (experts will tell you) - therefore you need hundreds / thousands of hits.

I also, although only briefly (hey I'm not getting paid for this!), looked at your product placement and selection.  It seems to me that people using your keyword might be the people who really like traditional Xmas stuff, possibly German Xmas related merchandise?

So, for example, the mobile phone cover seemed a pointless advert.  Personally, I think less, better targeted adverts is good - but I KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about sales hubs.

Anyway, good luck figuring it all out.

Wow 3-4%, well it's going to take a while to see some profit then isn't it?  That explains a lot. thanks.
