My research has show that the Hubpages home pages is at a PR 6 which is very impressive and probably the reason that there are so many contributors! I have seen a few individual hubpages profiles at PR3 and was wondering if anyone had seen any higher profiles or hubs?
Further, does anyone have any special tips, tricks, or ideas on how to increase the PR of your profile?
Is the PR of your profile as important as I think it is? I believe that if you focus on your profile it can be utilized for other gains.
Thanks Hubbers!
i believe it would be very important because it's sort of the base for all of your hubs. But i'm kind of new around here. How does one find out the PR of a certain page?
You can check the PageRank of a page with http://www.prchecker.info
Go to that website, enter the URL that you would like to check, enter the anti-bot code and then they'll give you the PR. HubPages itself indeed has a PR of 6 but for example http://hubpages.com/profile/ryankett has a PR of 3.
I think there are some out there with PR4, I would not worry about it too much though. PR is not the reason I stick with Hubpages, it's the earnings that work out for me
I think everybody's going to have to forget about PR altogether soon, there hasn't been a toolbar export for many months.
there might never be another one?
PageRank updates are dynamic. As soon as Google discovers that a link has been added or lost from a page, then PageRank will update automatically.
What you are referring to is toolbar PageRank which only gets updated periodically to bring it into line with real PageRank. Toolbar PR hasn’t been updated since April 2010. So although the toolbar says that the HubPages home pages is PR6 it might actually be PR7.
Thanks for the clarification Peter..;-)
A self-proclaimed SEO expert I know of recently claimed ina thread on another forum that PR has no relevence any more due to Google not updating PR since April 2010 - I'd say (reading your comment) he only has half the story then.. is that right?
PageRank has been devalued so much that I don't personally think it plays a major part in rankings any more. Toolbar PageRank that's months out of date is worthless.
The notion that PageRank holds great significance still exists. Visitors that know about PageRank might be swayed into thinking a page with high PR is more authoritative than those with low PR. I guess there is some truth in that, however as a ranking factor PageRank only plays a small part.
I would certainly agree that the current toolbar PageRank holds no relevance because it is so out of date. In the good old days, when reciprocal linking was the fashion, if you swapped enough links you could accumulate PR and gain top rankings relatively easily. Google seen this as a way to game their rankings and changed their algo to stop that kind of activity. Since then both reciprocal links and PR have little value but I would not go as far as saying that PR is valueless.
Is PR, when I type "Abbasangel" into google and I am my hubpages page with my profile is the second entry?
Thanks for sharing your insights, Peter.
I think Google has been working for some time on developing an alternative to pagerank… something that can’t be so easily “gamed”.
It will be nteresting to see what happens next.

I think a Google Page rank update happened today. I spend 15-18 hours working on the internet. A few minutes ago I noticed that one of my domains have gone from PR0 to PR2. I checked all my major sites and found changes in most of them. Some moved up on PR and some lost.

Google gave me a gift of Pagerank 3 to my hubpages profile on 31st december 2010 ... I know I've not done much work on HP but atleast this is better than those with 50+ hubs & have either pagerank 0 or 1...Google is good in bringing smiles Just Sharing with u.... a big Thnx to google.

Am I correct in assuming that any page rank on the "my account" page is for hubpages as a whole, not for my hubs in total? The page rank on "my profile" is for my hubs, right?PS- I, too, am learning so much I feel as though my head is exploding.

Hey guys, are all of the hubs on hubpages capped at PR 3? I'm curious because I don't think I've ever seen a hub with a PR above 3. Are there any hubs that have a PR > 3? If so, could you provide some examples?

Hey guys , I read some hub blogs that the Page Rank of Hubpages has been increased to 7. But when i checked it thru firefoxe SEOQuake I found I to be just "5".And then another problem is that the page rank for my hubs are listed as "n/a" . Should my hubs also be getting the same...
