Real estate mortgage interest rates stayed very low (around 4%) for a while.
Now they are at 4.8% for 30 year mortgage.
I asked a builder why they are growing.
He said, every election year mortgage interest rates fluctuate.
He said they will come down again.
Do you guys have any insight into this?

Do you think interest rates will go up soon?A 5-year CD pays 2.5% APY. Is it wise to sign up now, or wait a few months/years?

Is ther U.S. government going to eliminate the Mortgage Interest Deduction for homeowners?This is the only thing that saves me from having to pay the IRS. If I lose this, it will be very costly.
