I just have a couple of questions to anyone that's willing to help.  How do you highlight your text in blue like in other hubs, and how do you switch which side the photo capsules are on.  I know you can always put the photos to the right of the texts, but I've been told that you can switch it over to where it can be on the left side as well.  Can anyone help me with this?  I'd be most appreciative if anyone can offer some advice. smile

The blue highlighted text means that it is a link,  the color will automatically change once you link to your hubs, another hub or just an external link. For moving the capsules: use the right, left, up and down arrows on top of the capsule to move or re-size a capsule.

I also recommend you visit the the Learning and Tutorial Center for more insightful tips

Oh i already know that. like what i just told rafini earlier, I was talking about how in some hubs the background behind the text will be blue.  not the text itself. that's what i was trying to figure out how to do. however, i appreciate you responding anyways. smile

To highlight text in blue you need to hyperlink it to another hub or website by first highlighting the text, then clicking on the paperclip type icon above the edit box, and placing the link (or selecting your hub to link to from the list) in the relevant blank box. All of this will be obvious as soon as you highlight the text and click on the paperclip icon. Otherwise the text will stay black.

As for the photos, as far as I know you can only have them on the right, and there is no option to move them to the left of the text. I can't say I have ever read a hub with the pictures on the left.

    Hope this has helped smile

I still can't figure out how to get the text on the right with photos on the left - maybe it can't be done, maybe I just thought I'd seen it.  hmm  But, for the blue text, I think you're talking about the Suggest Links at the top of your published hubs.

Click the Suggest Links and any of your text that matches (I presume) Keywords of someone else's hubs will be highlighted and you can choose which one to add as a link.  (kind of basic, I know, but I'm not too good at explaining things I don't do often)

Oh no, I wasn't talking about linking hubs ladies, as i do appreciate the suggestions.  No, I was referring to how in some hubs the text is still black, but it's contained inside a highlighted blue background.  Kind of like in this hub:

    http://hubpages.com/hub/Death-an-Atheists-Perspective

I don't know how she was able to do that to her text, but I was wondering how I could do the same with my Oscar hubs coming up soon.

Sorry, I guess I should've explained it better.

oh!  When you align the text box right (in edit mode) there are a few boxes at the top where you can choose the background color.  two different shades of blue and the regular background.  I believe the options are up there by the link/unlink options for the text capsule.

Really?  it's that easy?  Thanks Rafini.  I appreciate the advice.  I feel so silly for not realizing that myself.  lol Oh well.  Anyways, thanks a lot for helping me out, as i really do appreciate it. big_smile
