You know, it sounds like you and me had almost the exact same opinion about valentine's day if you had said this to me 10 or so years ago.  However, I think main problem with Valentine's day is that people get so caught up with the commercialism of it, that many don't even bother to stop and think...WHY DO WE CELEBRATE IT?  Sure, there's a few like myself that actually took the liberty of researching the history, but most people don't even bother.

Which is kind of sad if you ask me, as I think many of our holidays in america are becoming nothing more than for the purpose of commercialization.  As far as what I think makes a perfect romance gift, I think as long as it comes from the guy's heart it should be counted as special.

it doesnt make you high maintenance, it just makes you expensive, theres a difference, at least in my mind, and if your huge passion is bikes, then "maintenance" is a term your already familiar with! ha!

Agreed. I am not high maintenance on Valentine's Day. My hubby expects more than I do. He asked what I wanted and I told him some comfy pj's. He's thinks that is silly. I don't need Valentine's Day to express my love and gratitude for those I love.
