Some sites suggest pinging every few days. Will this hurt your rankings if you haven't updated content?
Pinging without having updated content is a good way to get banned from a ping service provider and labeled as a spammer. Only ping new content once but you can ping it to multiple ping services.

I need reassuring.Up until a few months back I understand, maybe wrongly, HP pages got additional boost from Google. That implies (to me) that Google wanted content farms to churn out pages so that every possible search term was covered by pages that had associated Adsense advertising.Now...
