Well I'm back in the forums and happy to be saying Hello to my fellow posters. I have missed being a part of the forums, where one can offer unsolicited advice on all subjects without consequences unless you insist on the separation of religion and the state or insist there is no sky fairy.

This time I will be more careful when I speak up about the religious fundies. A rabid lot, they defend the indefensible with great rigor and will not have a bad word spoken about whichever version of a god their particular religion dictates. No worries, I will leave them to their own devices as much as I can. I may still find it a bit hard not to bowl over the odd homophobe and racist but otherwise intend to watch from the sidelines and let others try to separate fact from fantasy for them.

Thank you! Yep I have opinions on more than motorcycles and cars, and may have to be a bit more careful which snakes I tread on in future!

Welcome Back! Did you know that there's a filter by Edweirdo, that will let you block the religious and political forum? Might keep you out of trouble and here with us. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Nellie, I should listen to you, I know you are right. I will do my best to filter myself, as my track record is not good, and I believe in track records.. smile smile

Thank you, that is sweet. I missed the interaction with you too. I will have to go in to "able to deal with nonsense" therapy, so the religiously marvelous don't p*ss me off as much. smile

I'm assuming that would make a great substitution (although I have to admit I find "sky fairies" kind of appealing (but that's just me).   smile

I don't know Ernestshub, I can't even read the titles of the topics without getting pissed off and irritated. That's why I block all but four forums. It's so much nicer this way.

It's about time, mate!  I'm working on a filter for individual posters.  Remember this though, Maddie said she and Norah were responsible for 99% of the moderation on the forums.  So don't anger the ladies and you'll be fine. lol

There seems to be a shortage of snake lovers here. Spiders don't seem to be popular either. I worry about that. They are yet another two phobias that can be removed with knowledge as they were installed by myths.

Welcome back Ernest - It is a shame that you and others have been beaten back by the contemptible tricks and complaints of a small group of pseudo christians.

I felt that this removal of sane voices from the religious forums came to a head with the increase of religious advertising, commerce is a dirty (but understandable) business ah ! big_smile

You may have a point there. I wonder what freedom FROM religion is left. I'm well over it myself, and well over the controlling nonsense it spews all over the net.
Bronze aged thinking in my opinion.

      1. recommend1 profile image60
recommend1posted 13 years agoin reply to this

Unfortunately it is a creeping kind of death for progress - the whole new-christian project is about trying to return to some kind of stability through ignorance of the dark ages. Mostly because rigid morals, rigid thinking and simple minded thinking cannot cope with the freedom that we enjoy to shape our own futures.

earnestshubposted 13 years agoin reply to this

I see the results of the closed minded thinking in religious zealots and cringe for my fellow man. How could mankind still remain so ignorant as to use their fantasy to run other peoples lives through their religion. Smart as mud.
