Thank you for the ability to follow comments feature. I like that it brings people back to the hubs, unlike the RSS feed that gives away the content of the comments.
I thought this could be a great opportunity to send notifications to people about updates to a hub. I would use 2 comments capsules - one for hubbers' comments, the other (otherwise closed capsule) for update statements by the author. People who want to get notified about updates, but don't want an email after every single comment a hub gets could follow only the updates capsule.
But it turns out you can't follow comments on a capsule by capsule basis.
When implementing this feature the team considered whether to make the follow behavior on a capsule-by-capsule basis or a per-Hub basis.
Ultimately we concluded that most users would expect the following to be on a per-Hub basis.
