It would be nice to have just one button to spell check my hub before I publish it, instead of having to click it within the capsule. I usually have multiple capsules per hub and since it takes a bit for the ajax or whatever to load, it kind of deters me from spell checking.
Some of us write our Hubs first in Word or in a similar word-processing program. That document can then be spell-checked as a whole and afterwards loaded by sections into capsules. I like working that way because it is easy to revise the material before putting it into separate capsules. In other words, the spell-check feature is not my only reason for working that way, but it is a bonus.
Plus you can check your grammar too...
Yessss..... I guesssss -
I'm sure it's possible, but most of the time when the Word grammar-checker says I'm wrong, it's actually the grammar-checker that is wrong. I think that it's pretty good for basic grammar, but with increasing complexity it gets confused.
For example, earlier this evening I was typing this: "One way to figure out which elements are the most essential is to...." and the grammar-checker marked are as being incorrect.
When I remember to do so, I turn off the grammar-checker altogether. It's just too annoying for me.

Is your spelling getting worse?I prided myself as a kid on my excellent spelling. As the years go by it's getting constantly worse. I think it's the fault of Spell Checker, a blessed little program but one that makes us rely on it. Are you having the same experience?

I don't know if this is the right forum section for this question, but here goes:Has anyone else noticed that the spell checker cannot seem to "see" apostrophes, and therefore does not recognize legitimate words that are contractions?I've, Can't, Won't, Didn't, Haven't ... etc... all...

Does bad grammar and spelling bother you?I don't expect everyone to be an English professor, but for goodness sake people, use some punctuation and a built in spell-check! This is primarily aimed at forums, hubs, and places like YouTube comments. Places where people could take the time to read over...

I just came up with another great idea here folks. what about a spell check feature? i know there's been times i've had to open up various windows and/or tabs to check on how to spell certain big words i wanted to use in some hubs. however, it would be a lot less time consuming if...

I just got a new laptop, and I'm not up to speed with all its features. Seems to me that there's a spell check feature on HubPages that works as you write comments to Hubs, but I'm not seeing that on my new laptop. I do see it while editing or creating a Hub.Thoughts, comments, advice?Thuts, cmts,...

How dependent are you on Spell Check?Seeing made up words and misspellings all over HubPages made me wonder how dependent most people are on spell check. I do just fine checking my own work and using a dictionary (although I know I'm not perfect). I also know there are those who type their work...
