    come on, what's your favourite nonsensical idiom?
    My current favourite is;
    'I've put them in the boot', (for USA exchange boot for trunk.)  The context for this over heard idiom? I was eavesdropping in a coffee shop and a woman was talking about an ex partner and how she no longer upset by their actions.  Hadn't heard it before so maybe it wasn't an idiom at all but a serial killer with the unconscious need to offload.  Eeh well, there's nowt as queer as folk.

      I can't believe a literary mob like you could not rise to the occasion and I challenge you all to come up with an idiom.  Come on, it's still Sunday, it's boring, stop picking on people with opposing religious beliefs and have a bit of a laugh!  To start you off here's one of my favourites 'You couldn't swing a cat in  here.'  (For feline lovers, drop the poison pen, the cat referred to here is a cat of nine tails - a whip favoured by Her Majesty's Navy.
