I've been looking for someone to do an ebook cover for me. here's what i discovered.
So far, I have not found one who can actually draw or paint. All they do is get photos for istockphotos.com (or some other stock photography shop) and then type the title and author on. Big deal. I can do that. However, because my cover is not something that is generally photographed, it's not that easy.
Anybody else have the same issue?
We have had the same experience.
My daughter eventually got original artwork made for her ebook, but it was expensive as I recall. I can inquire about it if you like.
I'll get back to you after she returns from taking the terrorists to school.
Sorry Sophia! Can't help.
She had heaps of trouble with her cover and does not recommend the firm who did her artwork.
I hope someone else can assist.
Okay, thanks. I'm probably just going to go for a plain cover if I cannot find someone to depict the actual story.
Thanks for trying.
Trying to think of his name, but there is a hubber here on HP who teaches artwork, and is a brilliant drawer, and who is techy who might be able to help.
Izzy, that sounds great!!! Stretch your memory cells!!!
Went through the list of hubbers - http://hubpages.com/profile/waynet
Thanks Izzy. Much appreciated. Regards.
I think asking Wayne is a good idea.
He is honest and clever. Like other hubbers who have been here for a while, we know what he is like as a person.
Better to start with a recommended individual who will be honest by default.
If Wayne is unable to find the time, he may know a reliable person who can do the cover.
Hi Sophia - I use Coreldraw to make all my own stuff from headers to ads etc. Like all the programs it is really easy once you have spent a few weeks gettingthe hang of it Another opton is to physically make it and then scan it.
Try this hubber http://hubpages.com/profile/BTL+Illustrations
He left me some fanmail that said he did illustrations. I have no other info though!
Go to deviantart.com and find an artist that fits your taste and then contact them through their profile. There are tons of artists there willing and able and will illustrate for the credit.
Already tried this. It appears that all the art I liked was done in a 3D package and was not available in a jpeg format. In addition, it also appeared that none of them (so far) is able to draw freehand (they could only manipulate existing images), PLUS, not a single one was willing to work for credit...

I have been here for about two weeks. I am getting traffic from other sources other than hubpages, but the majority comes from here. I was wondering, how long did it take you to start seeing more traffic from other places. I am trying to learn about promoting and keywords and backlinking. I think I...

Here's my thinking, we're hopefully increasing others traffic by supporting another Hubbers Hub.And may it continue for everyone. However I find myself receiving my favorite Hubbers newest publish Hub 6:30am sharp and I begin to read.More often than not, I skip right by that Hubbers profile, and...

Lyricsingray started the excellent thread "Recommend another hubbers hub"....I thought that it would be a great idea to dive much deeper into the depths of this vast lake of words and pluck out some treasure. So rather than recommend a hub by some of the big fish who have already been...

A little while back there was a forum recommending the work of others. I found this to be quite entertaining and enlightening. I discovered quite a few very good writers that I had not seen on the landing pages. With that in mind I would really be interested in seeing more endorsements.The...

I am curious what kind of experience e-book authors have had. I am at a crossroads right now and am trying to make some decisions about where to focus my writing. I could focus more on HP or I could do the e-book gig and see what happens. What kind of experiences have people had...
