I just discovered hat my Hub Page summaries are empty, is this a bad thing? I have just added a summary to include keywords. Will not having a summary cost me traffic or Google attention?
That appears to be the way things work now. If they are empty, you could manually add them. Whether this is necessary is debatable: http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/74822
Arguably, customized summaries tend to work best, here is a recent discussion on that: http://hubpages.com/forum/topic/75352
I noticed recently when creating a links capsule that no summaries appeared, which was unfortunate.
Thanks website for sharing those links - looks like I am going to need to write something additional then
I have added summaries to my hubs and have seen a significant traffic spike, although from initial impressions this seems to be purely Hubage generated..
Anyway I found this help topic
"How long should it be? We typically suggest it should be 2-4 sentences in length, which works out to about 25 words or 150-160 characters, including spaces. Anything longer than this will generally be ignored by HubPages and other search engines and Web services that make use of it."

I dont no if its a fluke, but I put summaries on a handful of Hubs this morning, checked again a minute ago and I have visitors!!! Definite increase in views. So my conclusion, summaries are good!

Please do something to the filters so that Hub summaries as graphically-cluttered as the below can be found. This can't be helping.
