Question: If I have an approved montentized youtube channel, once I write a hubpage, can I make a video on youtube and place it in my hub? Are there any rules on this, or would it be considered a double dip?--Thanks

I don't think there are any rules against your video being on your hub.

      First, what is double dip?

Double dipping is like being paid twice from the same source.

Say your hub page has 4 adsense ads and then on the same page you add some more adsense ads through the Youtube video? I think people are doing it and no one seems to be complaining.

Viewing your hub page does not necessarily means one is viewing the video. You need a second action (view) which is to click “play” to have the ads through the video.

Theres nothing in the ToS that says you can't add a youtube video with adsense so your safe.

Double Diping ? In fact adsense allows youtube monetization. They'll contact you if you reach say XXX numbers of views on videos. They share revenue with you with partner program.

Thats what I am saying my channel is approved for monetization, so I wanted to know if I write a hub, and then make my video on youtube, I will earn twice from my video and from hubpages. Wanted to know if there are any rules so I wont get a slap on the wrist when I start tweaking my hubs.

No Slaps at all. There are many publishers using this method to earn for years.

I always wondered this myself. I could promote a youtube channel really well considering the views I get, but don't really understand how to get accepted to the youtube partner program.

I feel like I am wasting an opportunity.

YouTube have to invite you into it by email David. It won't happen if any of your videos have anything 'iffy' in them like copyrighted music, even performed by a tribute band (as I quickly realised). Best to start a completely legit account and wait for them to invite you into their Adsense program.

They invited me in the past, but ending up rejecting me for some reason. Now they invited me again, but I'm not sure if they are going to accept me.

I need to learn about creating/editing videos, though. Going to need a new laptop lol, this one is over 5 years old.

Good Luck David, I only know people who are in their 'chosen ones' although they seem to be inviting a load more lately. My account still has tribute bands from my holiday in Tenerife playing Robbie Williams music etc, so I am not expecting an invite any time soon lol.

Well, apparently my videos can now be monetized.

I was just reading an article on squidoo, and I hear there are actually three stages of the youtube partner program.

The first is just choosing videos that need to get submitted for approval of the possibility of having adsense ads on them. I think level 2 is when you automatically get ads on all your videos.

Interesting, this is news to me as I heard that you might get offered ads on one account but not on another if your content is slightly 'iffy'. Everyone I know who is on it has been invited, not submitted their own videos individually. I understood it was on an account basis, not individual videos! I would love to learn how you get on, so if you can post back here with the results of your efforts I would appreciate it.

Yes, I do not completely understand everything yet. Technically, I am not in the Youtube Partner Program, but am in the first stage of it.

                Check this article out.

Read it just now, interesting, and point 5 in the first section just backed up what I knew. I am not overly worried about Youtube in terms of what I might earn from it as I don't have many videos on there. More interested in if like all the others I know, it will be an invitation situation as opposed to you having to be proactive. Doubt my account on there could earn me much even if they ignored the tribute band music, but no biggie, I only recently found out you might be able to earn from Youtube at all!
Thanks for posting the link though smile

I agree Misty there isnt any submitting individual videos.  The way it works youtube will send an invite out if per say "a" video is getting alot of views youtube will send an invite.  But thats just for a particular video, I have not heard of automatically getting ads.  Thats not the way it works.

That is very close to what I have heard, although I also heard it was on an 'all or nothing' basis, i.e. if you have an account with some good videos and some that they cannot put Ads on, you would not be invited. For this reason many people have more than one account so they can split up the videos that are monetisable from the ones that aren't, therefore helping to get the invite from Youtube for the 'legit' account.

I am able to monetize all my videos, except one. But none of them are really worthy.

I need to get a new camera and/or capture card for recording games or fitness stuff.

I was invited to the youtube partner program a couple years ago. When I tried to get one of my videos to have adsense ads on it, they rejected it. To this day, I still can not be approved for the video.

I have been invited again, but  have not submitted any videos for approval yet, however.
