Something has changed and I am unable to download videos to my hub right now. Before yesterday, this was very easy to do, now I simply cannot figure out what is going on and am unable to download anything!
Please advise me asap!
I'm not sure what you mean by download.
Are you, perhaps, referring to using the video capsule and attempting to embed a YouTube video in a Hub?
If so, what is the issue you are encountering?
Do you see a message or an error?
Is the issue related to a specific YouTube video or a specific Hub?
Matthew:
In the past I could go on to YouTube, choose a video, hit "embed" and then could copy the code into the video capsule.
Now the embed option seems to have disappeared on YouTube and I am unable to use the video capsule.
I really use these a lot and can use some advice here.
Matthew
One more thing. All I see is "subscribe"...and many of these videos are from people I have copied videos from before.
I use Chrome, but always have done so without incident.
It sound like you may have a plugin or extension that is messing with the YouTube content page.
Something like YouTube center or a YouTube downloader utility could be the issue.
Some videos also do not allow embedding.
Do you have the YouTube URL?
I can get a URL for you, but it seems to be happening no matter which video I choose and it just started yesterday.
I know that some videos cannot be embedded, but as I said, the ones I can't get are from sources that always allowed embedding in the past.
I have not added any YouTube extensions at all, but here are a few URLs that I cannot download
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=88-1y5BDU5Y
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3xX60cCHwlM
The second one is from RV Geeks...I have downloaded countless videos from them in the past.
I think there is something wrong with your PC/browser/etc as I just checked both of those videos in Firefox in Windows 7 and the share/embed options are both there.
Best steps to try?
Clear your cache
Disable extensions/plugins
Upgrade your browser
Restart your computer
Try another browser.

I have been out of town for a few weeks and just started using this computer again. I cannot imagine what the problem might be with the PC as there seem to be no other problems.
I suspect the problem is with Chrome, but have no clue as to how to fix it.
Can you assist me?
Matthew:
I did all of that except for the plug ins because I do not know how to do them, but am still having problems.
On Firefox some of the videos show the share button, but my old standbys still do not.
Any other suggestions?
I have provided several options, including using a different web browser.
Please refer to the link I provided for general browser trouble shooting steps.
Here are instructions for disabling extensions in chrome that I found searching for "disable extensions chrome"

Unfortunately, we cannot provide support for each author's personal computer.
Matthew:
As I told you, I did try this with Firefox but my standard video providers did not have the share button there, either.
I feel this is a problem with Chrome, and have contacted my computer guy for help, so hopefully he can assist me.
I realize you cannot offer tech help for personal PCs, nor do I feel you should, but I do think that if there is a problem in Chrome, you should be able to assist me as others surely must have this same problem from time to time.
I guess I'll just have to limp along unless some hubber can help me.
Thanks, anyhow.
Matthew:
After much experimenting, I discovered that although the share button is missing, you can right click on the video itself to get the embed code, then copy and paste it into the video capsule.
I read that YouTube was making some changes with this type of issue and that many people were having problems with it.
So, if anybody else asks, this is how to fix the problem.
Ironically, you can get the embed code on Foxfire, but there is no way to copy it except by using the method I just found!
I just noticed that the "share" button is not visible either on YouTube videos.
I checked my extensions and only have "chromebleed", Kaspersky and the Pin It Button for Pinterest...and these I have had for quite some time with no You Tube Problems.
I noticed in one of your previous posts you mentioned that some of the videos show an option to embed while others do not. YouTube users have the ability to disable embedding on their videos. It sounds like whoever uploaded the videos you want to share may have chosen to disable the embedding option.
Christy:
Actually, this is not the case. Once I discovered that I could get the code and copy it and then embed it in the capsule, it worked fine.
I was going to say that is what I do and I just tried it still seems to work. I just cop the URL.
Examiner:
I tried copying the URL but it did not work. However, if you do as I suggested, that works...at least for me.
I right click, and hit "Copy the URL", it shows up highlighted in blue and I copy that.
All I do is copy and paste the URL into the video capsule box. Is that wrong?
Lisa: As long as the video shows up and is working in your video capsule, you are fine. I may be having a problem with my browser (Chrome) that is causing this, but at least now I know a way to get the videos I need embedded into my articles.
Just be careful: there's some confusion with terminology in these posts.
You don't use the "embed" code from Youtube, that is a more complicated code and you don't need it.
Just click on "share" under the video and copy the code that appears.

How many views a day should a first YouTube video get?I know that it will depend on many things, but on average, if a person does not have any subscribers, how many views a day is a good sign?
