Okay - I'm taking the challenge. I joined Friday (Jan. 13th - should have been a clue), then had to create amother profile today to avoid a conflicting dotcom domain name. So far, four Hubs - but I need to copy the first two from my account & republish them in new account.
Can I ask what you mean by the conflicting .com name? Unless it's a big company it usually shouldn't be an issue? Unless you really want to make an online name for yourself.
Hi, Wrylilt - thanks for the good wishes! The dotcom I mentioned had exactly the same user name as my first Hub account, which was marcywrites. Since I was just starting out on hubs, and because I'm already published elsewhere, I didn't want the confusion it could cause for either of us. So I reverted to my full name, which is my usual byline. The HubTeam just informed me they removed my old account, so I republished the two Hubs I had there on this account. Less than one week, with two account names & four Hubs posted. My head is swimming . . .
Ok that makes sense... just took a look at her site.
Thanks for confirming my decision - it was a real bummer, let me tell you. On top of the learning curve here, I had to remake my identity. My bad, though; I should have caught it before creating my username. I appreciate your comments here - I can tell you're one of the top writers (at least before you 'retired').
Oh before they (they top writers) retired, I was very low in the pecking order.
Unfortunately, the Panda slap in February '10, followed by the mishmash way in which the HP staff dealt with it, made many top earners and writers leave. There were members who were pulling in thousands of dollars each month at one time.
Good luck I'm sure you'll manage it, just picture dory from Finding Nemo and say just keep writing, just keep writing, just keep writing.
I just finished number 30 - DONE! I'm not posting links - you can find them on my profile & read whatever appeals to you. Or not!
Thanks for the great support here!

I have just started, so I dont expect it in the near future, but how many hubs, or how many months before you start making money? How much traffic is considered to be good traffic? Right now I am getting about an average of 75 hits per day on 4 hubs. Is that good? What...

Hi, I'm brand new to hubpages.I've applied to google adsense twice now and have gotten rejected. They don't give me a specific reason. It seems that most people on here got an account without a problem, and I thought all you needed was one hub to apply. (I applied a second time because I thought...

Analytics. It's far too much like maths for my liking. I was looking there earlier and it shows where your traffic comes from.Yet the hubpage stats disagree. Who is right? Or is it just a weird anomaly twixt the two?Thankyou

Just once.So we can have an idea of the numbers. The number of replies will give an indication of how many, in the very least, are involved. No discussions please, plenty of other threads to have them in. And no links.Thanks.I'm aiming for 100. Only one published so far PS: I was going to say...

When the March Q&A Contest was announced and there was mention of daily drawings for hubs, I had the idea that it was the perfect time to try out the HubChallenge with the added bonus of using Questions to inspire my writing. Last night when I should have been in bed it dawned on me that March...

As the title says I have been thinking about hubpages and how it has gotten very boring. A lot of people have stopped coming to the forums and everything is now boring. It's mostly the religious trying to argue about their religion or shove their religion down other ppl's throats or those who just...
