Okay - I'm taking the challenge. I joined Friday (Jan. 13th - should have been a clue), then had to create amother profile today to avoid a conflicting dotcom domain name.  So far, four Hubs - but I need to copy the first two from my  account & republish them in new account.

      Good luck! smile

Can I ask what you mean by the conflicting .com name? Unless it's a big company it usually shouldn't be an issue? Unless you really want to make an online name for yourself.

Hi, Wrylilt - thanks for the good wishes!  The dotcom I mentioned had exactly the same user name as my first Hub account, which was marcywrites.  Since I was just starting out on hubs, and because I'm already published elsewhere, I didn't want the confusion it could cause for either of us. So I reverted to my full name, which is my usual byline. The HubTeam just informed me they removed my old account, so I republished the two Hubs I had there on this account. Less than one week, with  two account names & four Hubs posted.  My head is swimming . . .

Thanks for confirming my decision - it was a real bummer, let me tell you. On top of the learning curve here, I had to remake my identity.  My bad, though; I should have caught it before creating my username.  I appreciate your comments here - I can tell you're one of the top writers (at least before you 'retired').

smile Oh before they (they top writers) retired, I was very low in the pecking order.

Unfortunately, the Panda slap in February '10, followed by the mishmash way in which the HP staff dealt with it, made many top earners and writers leave. There were members who were pulling in thousands of dollars each month at one time. sad

I need to research what Panda is all about and the effect it had here. I keep hearing about it, and I've read a few things, but I don't have a good before & after picture. Where did the other writers go?

I just finished number 30 - DONE! I'm not posting links - you can find them on my profile & read whatever appeals to you. Or not!

Thanks for the great support here!
