I have noticed lately more and more what I would call X-rated. I don't think they are for general audiences. Has HP become more liberal about the meaning of general audiences??? Anyone else noticed this?
I've not noticed. I'm probably too selective of what I actually look at here. If the title doesn't "grab me" then I just don't read it.
Also, my hubs do sometimes feature some zingers, but I try to make them clever, and not overt F bombs, or whatever.
I do get really irritable sometimes with people in these forums and let fly a few.
Mary I think some of the hubs you are seeing may be in need of flagging if they are of the types mentioned here -
http://hubpages.com/learningcenter/Mode … ol-Content
it has definitions of what is considered unsuitable for hubs.
Thanks 2uesday, I've checked those guidelines when I'd Hub Hop because I didn't want to flag someone's Hub unnecessarily. I probably flag too many, but I'll leave that up to the moderators. Most of the ones I flag I don't consider x-rated, just over promotional, etc. Some are so borderline, I don't flag. Maybe I should flag those that I believe to be too explisite.
So long as I have have 3 medical hubs languishing there with adsense ads disabled, I flag anything remotely blue.
Flag the borderline stuff and let the moderators sort it out. If the Hubs aren't really in violation, it's no harm, no foul.
Some of those more adult hubs might be allowed if they're within the guidelines and most will likely have ads disabled
Why not flag them? If they are okay the hubstaff will just clear the flag. No harm, no foul.
I've noticed a few hubs I thought shouldn't be on because of what I thought was also X-rated. I can't even get my horned toad hub on with adsense ads because they consider it x-rated I wonder how some of these hubs are getting by.

I know we should report spun articles and the like, but the guidelines also warn to be careful not to report people who don't have English as their first language. However, I've come across hubs that are written by such people, and the English is pretty bad.I don't mean to be insensitive or...

I've just received an email for the first time telling me one of my older articles is "incomplete or Poorly Structured". I believe this article was previously featured, as almost all of my articles are. It was old and had some issues so that's not really the problem here. What I don't...

I was over in "Hopping Some Hubs" which I like to do when I have some time. I voted one down because I thought it obscene. Not only the Hub was obscene, but the photos on it were too. I probably should have let it go at that, but I commented on the Hub itself that I thought it...

I've noticed that the number of poorly written Hubs is increasing daily. As the site's popularity grows, it's being flooded with Hubs from international users who have very little knowledge of the English language. We have to do something. We can't let the quality of this wonderful site to go down...

Unpublished hub vs published hub...I have an unpublished hub with a higher ranking than one of my published hubs. How does that work? I got a good laugh out of it though.

There are a lot of us who haven't been feeling safe on the forums. They've felt stalked, harassed and browbeaten.Sadly, some folks go with the letter of the law, but not the spirit of it in their posts. For an excellent post on why we need Forum Moderators, check out what Makingamark says here...
