I don't know what is going on but my traffic has been pushed off a cliff.  I am not doing anything differently then when my traffic and earnings were great.

Same here, the decline has been pretty surprising considering how well things were going.

Good news, I went to Adsense settings and blocked interest based ads and third party ads.  My earning jumped to 16.94 today.

Taking a good look at your overall traffic sources can help detect a problem.
Search engine traffic is great but referral traffic is also right up there with importance, as well as direct traffic. With all of the algorithm changes made in a year, depending solely on google search engine traffic is risky if one of those changes wipes out all of your traffic.

It's good to see your earnings went up by changing your settings.

Welcome to the sandbox!  Today is six months to the day since I was placed in this recreational area.  I'm weary of having fun!

If your drop is that drastic it has to be the sandbox.. there is a tool somewhere to check it.can't remember now, I had used it earlier when I was there in the sandbox.. but I truly hope you two are not there... hmm

These sandbox checking tools are fake.

oh Wow! I didn't know that, but it did show that I was sandboxed and later when I had climbed out of it... it didn't show me there.. This is information to me... thanks Izzy.

You can tell when you are in the sandbox. Basically most of your Google traffic disappears, you lose your SERPS positioning, all the plagiarists show above yours, yet your hubs do well in other search engines.

But the sandbox tools are fake. They show people as being in the sandbox when they aren't, or not in the sandbox when they are.

Sometimes they even get it right - 50/50 either way really! lol

I have never heard of this before and it is pretty alarming. Dipping 250+ views in one day is BIZARRE for me.

My best hub did dip a little bit in traffic but it didn't come from Google, it remains 1st in Google... I had a great January with increased earnings compared to last January but I had lower earnings last week for some reason, now I've picked up and as long as I make payout I'm happy...I always expect drops this time of year but I know people have been struggling for a while.

Just as Izzy stated, Google traffic will disappear from one's hubs overnight.  It will make no difference what you do until the big G decides you are to be released from the sandbox.

One is apparently treated as a completely new profile. The loss of 60-80% of one's traffic and earnings overnight, especially after working so hard to achieve the former satisfying results, was and still is a bit perturbing.  I'm now back to the same traffic I had after being a member here only a few months, and this is with many more hubs than I had published at that earlier time.

That is what happened to me... traffic just disappeared completely from Google.  Bing and other search engines started showing high  up on my stats... It was purely internal traffic that I had at that point in time... But when the traffic came back it just soared... at least 3 times higher than what it was previously.

Both Randy and I had a taste of that. My traffic came roaring back for 2 days in September, as his did in December, also for 2 days.

Whether those two days puts us back another six months or not, I don't know.

I'm not hanging around to see. I've more or less just dumped this account now and am working on new, focussed ones.

Anything I write is for hubbers, because there is no Google traffic to talk of on this account, although the plagiarists are alive and well and profiting off my hard work.

It's like starting all over again...feeling great if you get two visits and all that stuff. Where is the MONEY? lol

I understand what you have been saying all along.. I was just hoping since the six months is done with you would see a steady improvement in traffic just as I have done and continue to do... I know how hard it was for me during that time... not that I earned much...but just the traffic going away... was too much to bear.
Starting all over again after so much work is indeed  a terrible thing... Izzy I only wish you and Randy the very best... I do vaguely understand the kind of effort you  two have put in... into your work.

Do you really have to wait six months to recover? At this rate I might as well get rid of this account. It's amazing that this is happening as I have never even heard of something like this before.

Should I be as worried as I am?

I seem to be doing a major crash and burn myself. Since the traffic was not that much to begin with, it's not heart attack time for me. However, my optimism for future earnings is wavering.

Thats why many here have affiliate sites and other writing sites to work on.

The sandbox is getting a little crowded lol!  Shuffle over one everyone and Randy you are going to have to coil yourself up a little tighter!

For me it's turning into a bit of a comedy - I did a fair bit of the spring cleaning suggested in the HP blog last week (moving images, adding images, videos, rewriting sections etc)and my traffic just plunged lower.

Have to laugh - but really no point in doing any more writing on this account until things improve smile

I spent early last autumn stressing about it - but then decided to just move on and do other things.  One result is that I have just about finished my first book, and the second one is almost done as well.

Wow. maybe it is a sign to move on to other things. I guess my articles will be posted exclusively on my site until my traffic turns back around here at HP (hopefully it will soon)
