I am thinking of giving myself a challenge that in the next 365 days starting from today I will in average write 365 hubs. I am not quite sure yet if my mission is an impossible one or whether I will fall behind or stop writing in between. I am a very new hubber and reading everyday a lot on the hubpages to make myself motivated and inspired. I hope the other hubbers will push me if I fall behind or become stagnant with ideas of hubbing. Happy hubbing to everyone and myself also.

I think that is a great, reasonable, goal to shoot for.  As long as you keep up the daily progress, taking a break just a day or two here and there , I am sure you will be able to accomplish your goal.  I wish you the best!

Just remember to keep your focus on quality and not quantity.  It is better to take the time to write great hubs, than to just whip out some hubs just so you can meet your quantity goal.

I try to write as best as I can, whatever I write. Since, I am a newbie and do not have a lot of writing experience, it will probably take time get high in the quality level..... still i believe that this goal of mine will definitely take me higher. Thanks for your well thought comments.

I joined a challenge with the goal of publishing 500 articles in one year time. The challenge has been started by an InfoBarrel member CrystalNici who created a separate Wordpress page (with individual participants pages) to report on our progress and add links to our content associated to this challenge. My first 30 articles were also the Feb/Mar challenge articles at Seekyt. The next 30 will be HubPages articles.

I wish you a lot of luck and persistence smile

I have loads of ideas , no problem with that... But I cant get started with the ideas. feeling like...  am I really able to finish this stuff? Or how much do I know about it to write... an many other sorts of complications... which are not important actually... just kind of dragging from behind... and English is not my first language, so I stumble every now and then. sad

Look at some of the crap in Google - some of it is 200 words and barely readable. It's certainly inspiration to say "I can do better than them!"

              Megh,

I would recommend starting with mini challenges, 10/10-15/20 and see how you do. The goal you have is wonderful; but being new it can be complicated. You have to be very disciplined to write 365 hubs in 365 days.

Take your ideas and write them down or place them on word. Research what you are wishing to write about. If you have writer's block go to the Q&A and look for questions people are asking and turn it into a hub.

All of us wish you all of the best and support you with your challenge. Start small and work your way toward it.

Believe me when I tell you, that a break will be needed. Besides the challenge I am doing now, I have a full schedule. So it will be awhile before I do another.

Everyone is right. Quality not quantity is the best thing to do. smile

So begin with 10/10 and see how you do. smile

I think you are right. I can perhaps start like 10/10, 30/30, 90/90 and then go for the big ones. I was kind of like that little kid who wanted to see the stars in the beginning... lol. Thanks for your advise. I think I will change my goal. smile

From what you have written here on this forum, you write very well.  Remember too that you can go back and edit your work even after it has been published.

I like AEVans idea, just work with smaller chunks.  Instead of focusing on the year, just work on one day at a time. One hub a day.  If you don't get a hub written in one day, don't beat yourself up. Just start a new day with a new goal of one hub..

I felt stuck too, at least until I made the decision to go through the challenge. It seems difficult (well, it's not easy), however, once you engage yourself seriously, it will turn out to be a very rewarding experience in terms of making you a better writer, learning more about SEO, and increasing your earnings. If I did it, you can do it, too smile

It's definitely possible... I did it last year!

I wrote over 400 hubs last year, and it can get a bit tough when you have other things to do, but stick to it and you'll get it done.

It definitely helps you build a following pretty quickly.

I admire your enthusiasm but personally, I think that is a big mistake for several reasons.

First - unless you are already an experienced online writer, you have a lot to learn about how to choose the right subjects, how to select the right keywords, how to lay out your Hub properly etc.  If you're going to write a Hub every day, you're never going to take time out to do the research or learn the ropes - and you'll end up writing a lot of Hubs which need huge revisions, or are just a waste of time.

Second - it's a myth to say "just write it, and they'll come".  You need to promote your work if you want to make money - and that takes just as much effort as writing the Hubs (if not more).  One very successful Hubber always maintained that writing online was 10% writing and 90% promotion.  I hate doing the promotional stuff so I do more writing and less promotion - but I'd say my time is split around 50/50.

Third - HubPages is a privately owned platform.  Although it's been around longer and is in a better financial position than many, it's still private and the owners could still change the rules, go broke, pull the plug or sell the site at any time.  It's wise to spread your work across several sites, rather than focus on just one site (unless it's your own).

I recommend you sign up for a free trial of a program like The Keyword Academy before you start (you don't have to sign up for the paid program). You'll learn a lot, and it will start you off on the right foot.

I agree with AEvans. It is not everyone cup of tea to write one quality hub a day. You also need rest and should keep the weekends off for better productivity. 20 Quality Hubs a month is more practical than 30 hubs a month. Setting up long term goals are fine... but also set up monthly and weekly goals.

I wish you all the best with your Goals. I suggest you join our FB Group of Hubbers to keep yourself motivated.

Thanks Anamika. I am thinking of redefining my goals already. How do I join the FB group. I would love to join and interact with others. I have probably joined Hubpages community, but was not really sure what to do there. :-S

Greetings Megh! I agree with Anamika and AEvans! We've just finished a 30/30 this March and it was hard for me! They don't call it a "challenge" for nothing! While it's not impossible to complete 365 hubs in a year, it's a better idea to start off with smaller challenges.  During the challenge I wasn't able to be as active with HP as far as reading and commenting on other writer's work. I was too busy writing. Coming from a newbie's perspective (me!), I realized that there's so much more to learn about SEO aside from just cranking out 30 hubs. Now I have to figure out how to market myself and get visitors to find all my 30 hubs. Also, it's nice to set smaller goals and reaching them! Mini accomplishments will make it easier to reach bigger accomplishments! Sorry, enough of my rambling.
I wish you the best of luck on your decision! We're all here to give each other support and an occasion cheer from the sidelines. :-)

I completed two back-to-back 30/30 challenges, and that was enough for me to figure out that I could set personal deadlines and write 1-2 Hubs per day if I wanted to.  If I wrote more than this, my husband and my dogs would leave me.  No telling who would make it out the door first.
