Today, so far, I've gotten 187 visits, which is almost unheard of for me. Problem is, 155 of them are marked as "direct" by Google Analytics, which is beyond unheard of and gives me no clue why I'm getting such an upsurge.
I have no idea what to make of it. Should I be excited? Concerned? The hits are roughly distributed across almost all of my hubs. What could cause this?
Someone may have "liked" it on facebook or twitter and their friends read your articles.
Articles that I like or feel others would enjoy are sometimes fb'd or twittered!
There's another thread about the same thing happening to a hubber and it had to do with bots visiting all of their hubs.
And here's a link from the other link that's a barn-burner.

Well. Someone else must have tweeted one of my hubs today, then, because I sure didn't.

Yep, those fart jokes usually do the trick!

I checked my google analytics and see I am getting about 10% traffic from both direct traffic & referring sites combined. What exactly do those mean? Are people typing my profile into the URL? I am assuming the referring sites are links?

In the back of my mind I'm always looking for ways we can improve the HubPages product to help people be more efficient at increasing their traffic. Lots of things in the product start with manual expirments that turn into features of some sort.Right now I'm experimenting with updating old...

Traffic has fallen to maybe 20% of what it was. Now I have loads of articles with zero daily views. Am I going to be penalised by HP and have them shifted to Discover, not because it's my fault, but because the sites are badly rated by Google now?
