Loving You

No one can love you the way that you can love yourself. You, yes you, are important and deserve to be loved. Start with yourself first.

  • Find a mirror and meet your eyes in the mirror.
  • Say out loud, “I love you- say your name”.
  • Say it 3 times. Say it like you mean it. No one's around, so don't feel embarrassed.

Pause. Look at yourself. Really look and see yourself. See your beauty- not just skin deep.

Find 3 things that you love about yourself. The list can be exhaustive but we will work with 3 for now.

Say what they are. For example, “I love your beautiful, almond shaped, brown eyes they are so expressive.” “I love the way that you laugh.” “I love your big generous heart.”

Now, smile at yourself in the mirror. See the beauty of your smile- of you. It's a way for you to start appreciating and loving you.

You are a wonderful, wondrous being. You were created from love. Your highest self is pure love which is the strongest energy. To help you continue here are some more articlesthat you will want to read. How to Laugh More, How to Feel Good and The Life and Times of Max the Dog

Self Esteem Booster

Tell Yourself

Always tell yourself good things about you.

Don’t criticize yourself.

Don’t be judgmental. Try to accept yourself. It’s a learning process. It takes time.  When the negative chatter in your head comes up, challenge it.  Say, "that might have been true in the past but I'm getting better and better.  I  like this new me".

Be good to yourself.  Do something nice just for you because you deserve it.  Get your nails done or pick up that book you've been wanting to read.  Start small.

Remember.  You are loved always.

Every time that you see a mirror, remember, to smile at yourself.

Great article. I agree that you must love yourself if you want others to love you too. So many people have issues with self-esteem because they do not love or even like themselves. I have a friend with this problem. I will send her this article and hope it will help her. Thanks! Teresa
