   There is a huge difference, major. I suggest you go to the website for Student Leadership University.
   Leadership is how to help a group work and yet stand strong. How to make the followers get along with each other? Leaders do what is best for the people, not the results on paper. To think of others and not yourself. Leaders will sacrifice themselves for their people.
   Management is dealing with those under you. Keeping everyone in their place without having any attachments to them what-so-ever. The people under you don't matter. They are just under you. Pawns in the main game. A person in management focus' on the business side.

   leadership is more concerned with vision, empowering, positive possibilities and see relationships as opportunities for growth; personal goals in alignment with organizational goals; recognize that interdependence is the best way to achievement.
   
   management is more concerned with implementation than the vision, negative consequences and see a more limited web of relationships in terms of immediately adjacent areas; tend to focus mostly on goals set by others, and work more independently within organizational limitations
