What is the difference between diversified and differentiated in education?
I am not an expert in the field of education, but from what I can gather, this is the answer to the above question.
Diversified instruction involves a partnership between the school, the business community, and the student, during which the student obtains real on the job experience with an employer. It is focused on developing occupational skills through employment-related instruction and on the job training that is overseen by an employer and an educational supervisor or teacher from the student's school.
Differentiated instruction is an educational philosophy that recognizes that students learn in different ways. It is based on the idea that educational lessons should be tailored to student's various methods of learning and processing information. Ultimately, it involves providing students with lessons and instruction that address their personal learning methods, so that all students within a classroom can learn effectively, regardless of differences in their learning abilities or methods of learning.
Rock nj-. So, in essence, what you are saying is that diversified is kind of like vocational training of students for the real world?
As for the differentiated instruction, I agree, I think you are dead on. But I have to say, I think they are both, tough concepts.
What I feel is that diversified education means that being educated in many different fields. Differentiated is much the same but specialization means studying in one field only though getting subsequently higher qualifications.
