I understand that having a lot of emotional baggage is a hindrance to creativity so I try to let go of them.  I check on my negative emotions, label them accordingly, (for example: anger, sadness, fear, etc.) then let go one at a time along with a deep exhale.

I try to get as much quiet time as possible and meditate as well.  When you go about your day and come from a quiet stand point, it’s easier to notice your intuition.  Your intuition in turn leads you to new ideas.  A simple example would be when going shopping.  There’s so much merchandise to choose from, it can get overwhelming.  If you’re coming from a quiet state of mind, you will be able to notice what catches your attention (which is a stirring of intuition) versus those who have so many thoughts reeling on their minds that they merely pass off what could be possibly best choice for them.

This is all assuming that intuition is one of the manifestation of creativity.  For all I know, it could be the other way around.

This is no secret so I will share, unlike what Quirinus has said, emotional baggage can be a plus.  Now when I say emotional baggage I mean issues you haven't dealt with from every aspect of your life period!   Maybe you could care less, or don't want to be bothered or consider the individual/individuals loser who have played the position in you having this baggage.  Who cares whoever they are or whatever position they have played begin by getting down into the crut and crevis of it.  Dealing with whatever has been part of your experience is good.  Writing about it is even better, if you are honest and really don't what "it" whatever the situation was about or could really care less about the mindset and behavior of whomever just delve into it.  You'll be surprised how fast you will disown it and it will leave like it was never there to begin with.  Believe it or not negativity and positivity go hand in hand!

Having "emotional" baggage does not hinder if anything it will do wonders.... ciao
