What is your very first memory?
I was 3 and sitting in my Mom's lap on a plane. I remember telling her that the cars down below look like ants. What is your very first memory?
it could be either of these:
I woke up during the night, feeling cold. I went to set beside the wood burning stove. I sat inside a box, ( which was over a broom handle), being a small child, I could not be still, and began to rock myself. I fell into the stove, seriously buring my hand, knee and side. Today, the scar on my palm is still visible.
Again, I was young, and we had an 'outhouse'.............I woke up during the night, too afraid to go to the back forty alone...............so I opened the front door and tinkled on the vast front porch..hoping I would not get into trouble for doing so..................I discovered the "gifts of Santa". I most remember, a spinning top.............It was MINE!
I recall, how my 'big' brother attempted to tell me, there was no Santa...........but I got the spinning top!
I, really do not know which happened first, but by all family accounts, based on the house that I describe, I could not have been more than 3 years old at each of them.
My earliest memory, confirmed by my mother, took place at the top of the stairs in my Grandma Sneed's house. To my left was the carpeted stair way. To my right, the open door to grandma's bedroom. The daylight from her bedroom window bathed everything around me in rich, warm earthtones and caught the sparkly edges of dust motes floating above me; her faithfully polished mahogany dresser visible through the doorway. I felt untethered and powerful. Mother was hot on my trail, gently scolding me as she took the stairs two at a time. I was eighteen months old.
At age 3--I learned you do not stick bobby pins into electrical outlets! Ouch!

At what age is your very first memory (from)?Your earliest memory... I've always found it fascinating to find out how far back people can remember. Do you remember being 3 years old? 7 years old? 11 years old?

Happyness healsRecently I found myself facing a hard dull task for which I had no enthusiasm. During one of my distracted periods and while I was procrastinating and avoiding the task, I happened to be staring out a window at the falling snow and I remembered sledding with the neighborhood kids in...

What is your best or worst memory of the first day of school? Most kids are very excited on the first day of school. Maybe it's to wear their new clothes, use their new supplies, or just see old friends. All of us have memories of those day. Some are good and some are not so good.
