   In my view, that's the point of life - isn't it? We are all here for a reason, what we make of it is down to us. Dying is another natural process, but I believe everything has to die at some stage or we all stay the same, nothing would ever evolve. I like to think of it as, if we still lived in Adam and Eve culture would the internet be here? I think people, and the world has evolved over time, something that would not have been possible if we didn't die.
   
   Whether it's worth it or no, none of us will know until we die.

   No matter what you accomplish or acquire during your life here on Earth, you can't take it with you. As a child of God, the best is yet to come. No amount of pleasure can compare to what we will receive in Heaven. Nothing in this World is worth going the other way as well.

   The real question here is how do we define what is worth it. If there is no purpose why not sit on the beach and drink? Or lie steal and kill?  If no afterlife, why help anyone? We are  all deluded monkeys and our lives are worthless.
   The fact that no one, not even Richard Dawkins, believe this absolutely shows we instinctively have hope and a sense of purpose,yes even teenage morons and criminals believe in some values such as loyalty or love for their boyfriend.Most of us have inbuilt hope in goodness and this could not come from evolutionary struggle.It  is the image of God seen in a dirty mirror.

      Love of life is not inbuilt, it's evolutional. I remember some screen story about Martin Eden, not able to stop trying for a breath. Maybe there is something evolutional about boyfriends and other stuff?

   Worth it to whom? Me when I'm dead or to the person I touched when I was alive? I would say that the life I live is worth it to the person whose life I touched through love, friendship, counseling, writing, outreach ministry, or stimulating conversation. If after I'm gone someone says, "glad I knew her," then my life was worth it. We are all going to die. Worth is about the way we lived.

   I know that I'm mortal and I don't know if there's life after death. You have to die to know really. Whatever I need to know here, with this earthly state of consciousness, it couldn't take my dying for the knowledge.
   
   I mean, mortality is exaggerated. Just sit down and wait till you die, should mortality decide on your life with regard to consciousness.
   
   Life should be some pleasure, looking to the consequence of possibly dying and not having consciousness - in your question.
   
   Well, I like to learn things I like. I like language.

      Losing all knowledge is your speculation; the notion of mortality involves the unknowable - no one KNOWS what and if anything comes 'after'. Life is worth living: I can read and write a bit longer, should there be no 'aftertext'

   just living is worth it. once you're dead, you're dead so it won't matter. while you're living it is important to do what you can until you die to make living a good memory for the ones you leave behind.

   To me, all life has worth, whether anyone notices it or not.  I'm still awestruck by the fact that life exists at all, that this amazing rich and diverse planet was able to be formed and evolve as it has out of the chaos that was the universe billions of years ago.  That's magical to me.  And that makes everything that happens, good or bad, people or animals, animate or not, precious to me for the very fact that it exists at all.  That's why everything has worth to me, every atom is important.  It's all just bloody brilliant!  Beautiful.
   
   Whether one accomplishes great things or not is irrelevant to me.  What's more important is that we're just glad to be alive.
