   What IS your ASSESSMENT of a recent college graduate who takes THREE-FOUR years to find a
   
   job which is commensurate w/his/her educational level & REFUSES to work.....UNTIL THAT TIME?   There are recent college graduates who WON'T take a job unless it is in his/her educational range/level.  They will take as long as possible to do this........EVEN YEARS while being supported by their parents in the meantime.

   I don't respect people who sit on their butts blaming the economy or society, waiting for a perfect job that likely will never come. I do respect those who are working below their pay grade to pay bills and get experience so they are qualified for the next level up. The unemployment numbers are a lie to make Democrats look good, so it DOES take a long time to find a new good job unless you're in a niche with high demand (some skilled trades).
   
   Even The New York Times admitted Trump was right on unemployment figures: If we count the unemployed, underemployed and those who have abandoned looking for work — which the BLS does not — 40.4 percent of Americans were unemployed as of January 2016. One in six working age men, out of the workforce.
   
   Given this high level of real unemployment, if employers hire someone, it will be someone they KNOW will produce economic value in excess of what they cost. This shuts out the new graduates and never employed in that industry out of jobs in favor of those with experience. And given the high level of unemployment among the experienced, they CAN hire experienced people for the starting wage level so they do.
   This means that new graduates or anyone shifting fields has to take longer to find a job, any job, or accept much lower pay / unpaid internships to get experience.
   
   Doing nothing, though, should not be an option. Skills atrophy. Employers see doing nothing as worse than doing anything to maintain work habits and pay bills. They'll take the person who worked below their level three years over the graduate who did nothing for that time.
