A study commissioned by the C.I.A. and other agencies says that the acceleration of climate change will place unparalleled strains on the American military and intelligence agencies in coming years.
"...The group, the National Research Council, says in a study commissioned by the C.I.A. and other intelligence agencies that clusters of apparently unrelated events exacerbated by a warming climate will create more frequent but unpredictable crises in water supplies, food markets, energy supply chains and public health systems..."

Remind me again, didn't the US refuse to ratify the various climate agreements etc because climate change was unproven in their opinion ?? If my memory is correct then how come the intelligence agency of the US govenrment is calculating its impact ?

As an American, perhaps as a person on the planet today, it's very difficult to stay informed. If one makes the mistake of turning on the TV to watch the News, one realizes they're wasting their time soon enough....
