strongly contend that people should only look out for themselves & their immediate circle -no one else? Do you believe that helping others causes such others to become lazy, entitled, & dependent? Do you believe that people ought to/should pull themselves up by THEIR OWN bootstraps & if they don't, WELL....TOO BAD?
If we believed this we would be paying no taxes at all.
We are, as a species, naturally very helpful and not selfish.
We are not cruel we are not greedy. Those attitudes come about through deviations of the human spirit. What causes these deviations is a science in itself and must be made aware of.
Common sense encourages us to enable those who want to enable themselves. Common sense says not to enable those who are becomming weak and dependant on others rather than themselves.
The funny thing is this:
When you give too much, independence flies out the window and dependence takes hold. It is human nature. If we can get it from without, we will.
Take drugs: feel good chemicals like serotonin percolate/transmit within the brain, but when we become dependent on drugs for the high we get naturally, the inner chemical reactions cease. It is easier to rely on the coke or the heroin.
Take alcohol: the more we drink the stuff the more we become dependent on it. We mess up the natural flow of inner spirit / health / the inner wherewithal toward success. No, now the drunk just wants to have his immediate bliss without working for it.
Unfortunately, true and lasting happpiness does not work this way. To contribute to false, temporary bliss is not kindness. It is cruelty.
Don't be cruel.
Stop socialism in its tracks.
Bah!@!!
