Any suggestions for what to do with used college textbooks?
You can always sell them. Some of mine I sold back to my school. Others I put on Amazon. The payback is more on Amazon than ebay, at least in my experience.
The ones that I couldn't get any money for, as in I'd have to pay more for shipping than I would get for the sale price, I donated to my local library. The library will give you a tax receipt and you can write it off. Plus it gives you the warm-n-fuzzies
You could sell them.. like on ebay or craigs list.. or you could give them to someone younger then you and see if they could use them.
Thanks for the responses. Both the library and Craigslist sounds like a great idea,
Amazon has a textbook buyback feature, or you can sell them yourself through Amazon or eBay. If you are still in the town where the college is, you can sell them to another student for the next semester, if they are still using the book for that class. Used bookstores will also buy them or donate them for you.
If they are super new (within the last year or so), I've always got the best money by selling it on half.com . Just undercut the competition. I've also sold books to ecampus.com. They took an eternity to send me a check. I would not recommend them.

Have you held onto and used any of your old college textbooks? It is amazing how many of our college textbooks were sold or given away. But some of them are classics that are still useful after years of working and passing through the phases of life.

Do you think the cost of college text books is just highway robbery?
