   Look human addiction is a symptom of some underlying trend in the human psyche that springs from a body, mind or soul issue... Depending on how one perceives their existence as physical, metaphysical or as a mystical experience... 
   
   Let me say, "Are we changed by traumatic events?"  Life is a traumatic event when witnessed from a holistic left brain perspective in that the chaos is apparent; where as on the right side one delves right into the chaos and tries to deal with it as though there is no other way but the linear physical dimension ...
   
   My point is we see life from our unique perception of the observations we witness and experience from our personal perspective.  The more me, myself and I you are the more needy you become and therefore more inclined to dwell on all the stuff that impacts you rather than being a champion you might be by leaving your self interest for a bigger more inclusive, selfless and civil outlook of your existence...
   
   When you arrive to be occupied by this inclusive, selfless and civil you there is no such negative addiction you are now addicted to evolving the positive space and time continuum of singularity...
   
   In summary; Yes addiction changes a person as every experience causes impact and effect as addiction is a desire dependency (positive addiction are good negative addictions are bad...  Letting go of physical addictions requires letting go of all the linear lies about who you have been made to believe you are...  Do not compete in physical realm let your soul guide your path... Your ego will be your biggest enemy and your id will make your body lame; but if you retreat to our superego you will be safe from all assault, until you are enticed once again to be selfish and foul... It's a process system awareness measure that defines the quality of existence you will experience...
