in the trenches what did the soldiers have and not have, what would have helped them if given?
have to do an assignment on what they felt like they wanted, needed, and could have helped the soldiers.
They didn't have much of a choice - that's for certain.
OK, boys I know there are heaps of machine guns going to blow most of you to Kingdom come - but some ass back at HQ has decided walking slowly towards well dug in machine guns is a good idea (so long as he can sit on his ass 4 miles behind the front).
It seems that if they got a wound that was bad enough for them to be ent back to England they were delighted. Known as a "Blighty"
So my guess is most of them would have most liked an injury free ticket home.
Pity most never got that did they!
I beleive this answer to be shoes. Or should I say boots.
