Can you clarify your question? Materialism is essentially the philosophy that "stuff = happiness". That stuff can be anything a person wants it to be, whether it's necessary resources, intangible objects (like money) or even attachments to other people.
In general though, I don't think materialism has a specific hypothesis about "thinking". Materialism doesn't really go into consciousness philosophy. Though it would be interesting to see a hub that talks about the possible thought processes of a person who is a materialist, or maybe a hub about how a materialist might view the idea of consciousness.
