While listening, do we read the translation in our mother language or the target language?
The best way in my opinion is to read target language with transcription. You need to see whole picture.
I'll show you.
I've found some text in english. For example:
My city is the best.-it's my target language. I want to learn english. Now I should transalte it.
My city is the best.-target language english.
Moje miasto jest najlepsze.-mother language polish.
I'm writing the translation under every sentence.
If you already understand the text in target language you can listen without the translation. I hope it will help you.
